The giant flakes have arrived here now. I know it means moisture but they are fun to watch! After hours of snow we do have a decent cover but it's very wet. Whilst I'm really grateful to have the long awaited snow event for all the fun it brings I would have liked the really good lasting deep snow followed by a freeze. There's just something magical about it in the bright sun when it's frozen. Still, this is really good to see.

I love how there's a dry patch now after that heavy snow shower has cleared. It may thaw out slowly but at least it won't be rain to wash it away!

Patchy slush almost all gone now, and we haven’t even had any rain or sleet yet. You wouldn’t think it had snowed.

Considering how much rain we have had, we have patches of snow left which surprises me.

In the town now and wow it's crazy the difference even 50 metres is making this event, barely anything here.

Winds starting to turn more Easterly now, blowing the heavy snow.  They will swing to the North later as the low exits and wraps round, bringing colder air with it.

Warm front seems to be running from bromsgrove through northampton!!well south of where the gfs was showing over the last few runs!!!if there was only more heavier precipitation then i reckon a lot of us would have been more surprised as to how far south the cold air is at the moment!!

Yeh I think they will drop an amber for this if the 12z data stays consistent, will come down alot faster than this morning which caused problems locally

Just an observation

The heavier ppn (rain) to the SW of our area, in and around the Bristol channel.

This will be heading towards the South of our area in the next couple of hours

maybe worth a listen out for a bit of thunder
