The wind chill and air filled with snow where you have a job to breath is enough..

It was bad enough at top of Dronfield I had to turn back. Must be 25cm easy there now and that was 2 hours ago it was whipping up and it was difficult to see dread to think how bad it is your way.

Many 4x4 enthusiasts and some locals farmers trying to help out on the main roads and will be through the night I would expect here. Lots of cars will be abandoned come morning.

Woke up earlier. Mini blizzard occurring from this shower which has become almost stationary as the front pivots.

So many people unprepared I had to help a van out that had got stuck in Sheffield I had a bag of grit and snow shovel and managed to get him out that was my good deed for the day.

If I had a 4x4 I would help anyone in need.

Some snow photos from this morning and although it rained this afternoon with a thaw underway, a fair bit of snow has survived.  Hoping for more later and not far from the amber warning!! 🤞

@Don I was  wondering where you were, I was worried you had gone somewhere and missed a very rare occurence! Treasure the memory and keep the pictures somewhere. It doesn't happen very often!

Snow here now as well, very wet but its turned so that's a good sign for when the main front comes back to us, looks like we are in for another good dumping ❄️. You know you are a hardcore coldie when your up late for the snow 😂

Same, went for a midnight stroll earlier, felt like i could snap my ears off, major wind chill, will only get colder now the winds are picking up more. Might look blizzard like even down here at times.

Also awake at unsociable hours. Was raining here for ages (still some slushy snow remaining here and there) but has stopped now and am hoping we will get more snow again. Forecast shows we should get some snow again between 4-10 a.m. Fingers crossed!

Hoping not too many are stranded in the bad conditions further north of here.

Wow

Seems like we almost have a full house of Midlanders..

Got up for a cup of tea after being kept awake by the ice rattling on the window sill till 3:00, then quiet.

Got up to look and yes it had changed to snow.

Couldn't sleep so here I am also.

As DWW says covering very well and blowing at the same time.

Already about 2cms. Temperature at +0.2C and my dp is at -1,1C with 90% humidity.

Looks like a few hours to come, but some dry spells north of here.

Hope people are safe further North, no on can say there was not a good warning.

MIA
