Well it's been a long wait  but worth it for the thunderstorm we had here in Hastings/St Leonards on Sea around 9pm on Saturday.  Frequent lightning,  near constant rumbling thunder and at times torrential rain.

It feels cold with a light drizzle, it looked far more unstable yesterday.

Only just wet the floor here ! Spits and spots ..total collapse or break up in 30 odd miles ,but again the rain has intensified north of London, you had a decent storm ,it just skipped over me here ...

And second morning where its just a grey dish cloth sky, the winds dropped off a tad so feels a bit warmer

Yeah like others have said it looked a certainty that we would be hit by heavy rain thunder and lightning about 8.30 last night as radar was giving the kitchen sink in weather terms to those near the coast of Kent but it just all disintegrated and gave us some light rain in the early hours and then has re intensified north of London again!!You couldn’t make it up.Oh well good luck to all those who like a good storm in the north of our region

Some moderately heavy rain in the early hours, now clearing away with grey skies. Feels warmer because that wretched wind has dropped somewhat.

A load of lightning stills and I've got many more videos to look at on my camera from yesterday, along with some from the last month to have a look at as well.

Had a nice little storm around 9pm, some booming cannon thunder, and much needed rain for the pots, shame it messed it up for the early hours, but never mind, had 2 storms in the past 3 weeks, much better than previous. Have a good day all

No break today

308859171_largethumb(8).thumb.png.0de4094ed4812122dfdd0ccc03cd5bef.png

"A very messy pattern is expected on Sunday as pulses of rain spread northwards across Ireland, England and Wales, particularly heavy from Wales across the Midlands to East Anglia, and increasingly into northern England. This may contain some lightning initially across portions of East Anglia, but likely weakening with time as profiles become fairly saturated. Extensive cloud, and even some fog, is likely to be left in its wake across southern and central Britain. Forecast profiles reveal a cap at 850hPa that will require surface temperatures near 20C to initiate surface-based convection across SE England, but the cap is much weaker towards SW England.  If sufficient surface heating can occur then there would be scope for heavy showers and thunderstorms to develop along a marked west-east convergence zone in southern England given the slack low-level winds, and this risk does persist well into the evening hours. The setup is also complicated somewhat by forced ascent along the rear side of the Theta-E plume as PVA associated with an upper low sliding into the western English Channel engages. This aspect is also uncertain, but could provide the focus for deep convection that persists well into the evening or perhaps overnight period as the focus shifts from SW England initially ENE-wards into the south Midlands and SE England/East Anglia late in the day. This could drive areas of heavy, showery rain bringing the risk of locally high rainfall accumulations and some surface water flooding. Lightning may not be overly-active with this feature, but heavy downpours are certainly a possibility. A conditional/marginal SLGT has been introduced, but will be dependent on sufficient cloud breaks/surface heating and it is certainly plausible very little lightning occurs. A SVR was issued for the risk of local surface water flooding. The moist boundary layer and vorticity stretching along convergence zones would promote the chance of a couple of funnel clouds."

Now now Lassie. You know the roll with our weather. It does the exact opposite of what we want. 15 degrees in January and cold in June.

well no thunder. Friends in Eastbourne stuck in pub last night due to the storm.

Horrible fine rain here and chilly.

The only thing i will say is many years ago we took out then baby to an appointment and we had the same fine rain and out of no where there was an embedded thunderstorm so you never now.

I won't hold my breath for any thundery activity today just the usual cloud and rain overnight, nothing else...we've had 1 thunderstorm this Spring, pushing it for another.

They sent pics! but yeah they don't need a storm generally to stay in the pub, no.

A rather dull, grey and depressing 13C here just now. At least those knee-jerk charts showing 8C at midday came to nothing!
