Had a bit of rain and a few rumbles, but it's certainly done nothing to the temperature due to humidity, let alone the indoor temperature.

The change will happen overnight, I had that stuff, come through at lunchtime, I'm in Minehead, soon as it cleared, the temp shot up again. Got the 2nd front coming through now, and it's made a huge difference here

A few rumbles here in Colchester, Essex now. Much like @Kent Blizzard it's done nothing to alter the humidity.

Looking forward to the second band in the small hours.

When it comes to water under the bridge, I put a few gallons under once, you could say I gave the go for throttle up :

Ooh I say, there's a narrow band of light rain inching its way towards me!

Exciting times!

But with the wind gusting like you say and no rain/storm etc..as you know its a fires best friend

Unfortunately the lightning has started a fire around here, near Aycliffe, and another in Broadstairs. There was about five minutes of rain, after a barrage of cloud to ground.

Temps down to 18 degrees. No measurable rain so the East Kent desert continues to be in place. Nice light show though!

Looking ahead, mid to high 20s in the reliable and FI. No rain other than trace amounts, even on the automated model-based apps.

Distinct smell of smoke in the air this morning which adds to the last 48 hours reminding me of Southern California during a Santa Ana wind event.

Feels lovely and fresh this morning with a gentle breeze blowing. Some relief from the extreme heat of previous days .

Definitely feeling more pleasant this morning.

It rained during the night but not enough to trouble the rain gauge - probably evaporated!

The rain radar is frustrating viewing, seems to be avoiding land in the SE & E

A much cooler feel to the day today with a fair amount of cloud.

This should left and break up during the morning to leave sunny spells. Then we need to look to our west for any showers forming and drifting this way. These could really come to life once they encounter the very warm air over our region. I expect a few surface based storms today.

Temperatures - 25-30c The further east you are, the warmer it will be.

Had a thunderstorm of about 1 hour duration last evening, some loud overhead cracks of thunder, and at last a drop of rain. Heavy for about 20 mins then mainly showery, not a lot, but better then nothing. Feels fresher today with a nice breeze.

Last night, quite a few people wrote the Storms off after 6pm, even I thought they would only be infrequent lightning but perhaps I should have been more trustworthy about what I said on Monday because it seemed to go down pretty much as I expected then, once again, happy with that forecast.

Some decent lightening around between about 11 and midnight last night. Some thunder, just about audible above the fan, no rain though.

Yep, I don't get where the fresher feel is, it's so humid, I've a constant sweat on, and my room is still 32. So hot and humid together in my house right now. Outside might feel ok, as it's not that hot yet.

Around 27c with quite a bit of cloud and a stiff breeze. No sign yet of things kicking off.
