And yet looking at the BBC TV forecast on their website this morning no mention of snow for our area just shown as rain. Temps now falling so what settles may freeze so a lethal combination of poor visibility and black ice a possibility

Can we have another se thread which allows major tirades with the swear filter removed !

The main precip band is moving east and without any se movement apart from a few scraps areas south of London look like having another disappointment.

Wondering whether the snow is being pepped up by the wind coming in from the northeast through the Wash. Last time I saw snow this heavy was in Thames streamer in 2009

Lovely. Another soaking cycle into work this morning it looks like. I just LOVE cycling in rain and getting drenched by rain, puddles, vehicles. Its the most perfect bestest start to the day WOOHOO

A chillier, breezy morning currently 5c. More rain on the way? Could be flooding around soon always one extreme to the other.  Either bone dry or soaking wet.

Getting very breezy here and I thought I saw a few flakes of snow in the rain - but then realised it was cherry blossom.

Starting to snow in East Finchley, north London from twitter. Been settling over the Chilterns. Some hope for some snow here on the Surrey North Downs and maybe even briefly settling.

Kent has been left in the doldums with this one hasn't it!

One morning of snow, melted by rain by lunch and now a week+ of wet and rain modelled.

The snow chaser in me is happy for all of you getting it.

The IMBY in me hates you all!

Looks like there could be some very strong winds on the south coast on monday. Hopefully it comes off I could do with a bit of exciting weather.

Ah - the cherry blossom might have been snowflakes after all - unless there is a large cherry orchard nearby... Yes it is snowing again.

Yes, I have been keeping an eye for any shift SE, having none of it. Another disappointment, just had lots and lots of RAIN!

Snowing now

Blimey this morning is a pleasant surprise. I knew some snow might be possible but all models yesterday were suggesting this would become light and patchy as the low travels east. The intensity of the precip is much heavier hence the heavier snowfall. Currently huge flakes with a covering everywhere. Just a shame this band of snow will clear here in about  1hr!

Just started to snow here in Caterham-on-the-hill, NE Surrey on the southern edge of London

It’s hammering down with rain here in Sevenoaks. And it’s very windy too. No sign of any snow and it doesn’t feel cold enough either.

As Captain S., Dami and S-MK state above, you can see that transition from Rain > Snow now taking place to the N. of London, as can be seen on the Meteociel charts, above.

.Just a little N. of here [London City Airport], the current temp. is around 5c with a Dew Point of 4c. 

The Rain has just turned a bit heavier and I'm keeping my eyes peeled and expecting a bit of wintriness, before it clears away later.
