I think white horse is around 150 - 200 max off top of my head because it was often less snowy than home on mendip back in day and I looked it up once when I was dating girl from westbury. 🙄

slightly off topic but your avatar is brilliant. out of the whole series my favourite episode was the penultimate one. I battling the ice dragons as well as all the resurrected zombies/demons.

Are used to work in test Valley live just off Millbrook Road and the difference in the weather was phenomenal.

I remember us working on Romsey estate and it started snowing so heavy and settling everyone got sent home and yet when I got back down the M27 it was just raining onto Millbrook Road.

Yeh, spot on. More than once it’s been snow from the Dukes Head* north and rain south of it. It’s my own version of the M4.

*(now the Duke on the Test, don’t you know, la de DAH, £7 a pint)

It was mentioned  something about a snow related thread being opened tomorrow  to free up the mad thread.  So maybe the most of the culprits have gone off in a sulk .

One thing's for sure.. plenty of rain to come down here!

And much needed it is, after a seriously dry 7 weeks or so. It'll be good to see the streams around here active again.

I will discount snow for here, < 5% chance at best.

On the other hand, almost 24 hours of rain to come!

Typical start to an event such as this…

Precipitation on the radar here, nothing falling. 😅

Well, the ever unreliable Meto App has suddenly sparked some interest;

Could contain: Text

well, that’s if I could be bothered to stay up and observe what happens.  I just don’t have the confidence and expectation that my area will see anything more than some sleety slush.  Can’t say why, other than it just doesn’t feel right.

Nevertheless, it’s nice to see some activity within the thread and some interest to observe out our windows over the next couple of days though.

Same here, unfortunately the street lights have turned off now, from what I can hear hitting my window, it's more rain than snow.

I was hoping we'd get lucky,  it's not looking likely that I'll have snow on the ground when I wake up though.

It will be more snow than rain for quite a few. Amber warranted imo. Rushour going to be fun.

It's the heavier bursts that is producing a wintery mix, as it stands I think this ain't happening on low ground! 3 miles up the road from here probably a different story 🤷‍♂️

Rain here, with the odd wintry bit. 3°C and a dew point of 1°C so not that surprising.
