Still very little wind but just had a torrential downpour and I’m sure there was a distant rumble of thunder among the pouring noise.

Here in Midsomer Norton, we've had torrential downpours and a few rolls of thunder. Looks to be headed from Wales.

One of them was proper crackling around, but the first one could easily blend in with the sound of torrential rain 🌧

A fair amount of electrical activity in the more intense areas ...

It rained here just now for 20seconds, stopped and then started again for another 20seconds, then stopped. Couldn't makae it's mind up "whether" to or not!

That doesn't sound good Beka , do you need a Dr in  case it's a condition rather than a bug ?

Nah. It was all over realatively quickly tbh! It was hard and fast *Snigger* Feeling weak but better today. Will get up and dressed in a bit. Will start Sophie's room tomorrow.

I must say todays weather is not the complete discusting wash out mess I was expecting. The clouds are bright and I've seen more sun than i've seen in weeks. I'm quite enjoying it ... This is a good Julys day! By 2023s standard ...

Funny day down in Kingsbridge. Wind has picked up briefly over past hour or so, some strong gusts looking out the window. Prob just about justifying the yellow warning tbf. I do get some of the risk element will be in consideration of tourists and holiday traffic.

Wind really picking very up quickly now and it's miserable .

Picked off my big outdoor tomatoes as the wind could snap the plants and harvested my mid season potatoes.

It was humid this morning but definitely chilly now which would make sense if the front brought thunderstorms along .

Pressure rising, Antonio has passed, and provided a few interesting showers, most now to the East of the area.

Looking back at the BBC headline:

"Storm Antoni: Danger to life warning as strong winds and heavy rain hits UK."

Hmm, I do have to say NIMBY.

Odd day here today in that I was expecting much worse.  Today has definitely not been as bad as many previous July days we’ve had.

We had a bit of rain this morning then by late morning the sun was out and it felt relatively warm (even though the temperature wasn’t that great).  Clouded over again late afternoon and some patchy rain has returned over the last hour or so.

Wind wise there (so far) as been nothing more than a breeze today.  Not a great summers day obviously, but definitely not the washout one feared here!

Downstairs toilet, and for somebody who is not as nimble as they were last time it was done, contortion of my torso, will certainly remind me tomorrow, how old my body is😩

Afternoon All, contortions from yesterday persuaded me to have a lay in this morning (lazy s*d), there's always tomorrow, and if tomorrow doesn't come I don't think anybody will moan I haven't finished the decorating!

Last night was back in to the single digits as Antonio brought some Northerly air in to the area with the overnight low of 8.8°C at: 06:21, currently 19.8°C, RH64% and a 8mph light breeze in from the NNW.

From Above showers over central Wales heading for the more Eastern side of the area later

On Golden sands a busier day than of late in the warmth

It's like April here today - sunny spells with some very sharp showers. Must be some pretty cold air aloft ...

11:00 am way past my normal time to greet the world and feed the dogs. Although, I did get up at 7am and let the dogs out, so maybe not quite so guilty!

A crackin day out there a peak of 21.1°C at: 14:49, and intermittent spells of warming sunshine, has summer returned...maybe...just maybe for later in the week. I hope so as I'm taking my grandkids down to the Donkey Sanctuary this week so a warm and dry day will be appreciated.
