That's no where like for my area.

Very confusing.

Same here. Feel like a fraud for staying off work and even contemplating going in right now?!

The squeeze in the isobars on the southern flank of the low are still much further west .

So don’t be duped by this relative calm now .

It’s most definitely starting to gust storm force under my duvet. Other than that a gentle breeze between Southampton and Portsmouth ??‍♂️

My untrained eye is seeing the low undergo some kind of change and development. It still is getting it’s ‘act together’ but expect things will take a turn for the worse quite quickly when it does.

Edit: Could be those areas out west may have a smaller window for the extreme weather while the development goes on. Quite how this will bode for central and eastern areas however as we may have a more powerful storm by then.

The wind has picked up here a lot now after the storm passed overhead.
Pressure bottomed out at 947.1 hPa, the temperature is dropping and the rain turning sleety.

People acting like the storm is half way over the UK already

Well when you are an hour into a red warning and it just seems like a normal windy day it is confusing!

Peak winds not even into Cornwall yet, there will be a rapid increase in winds followed by maybe 1-2hrs at peak.

Peak for your location probably not till 10am, maybe even 11am.
