A lovely day today, largely sunny, breezy with the temperature reaching a respectable 16.6C, but a chilly night to follow tonight under clear skies.

Beautiful isn't it?  Hope your mum in law is OK.

Thanks.

She was picked up by ambulance at 5pm. I got a call from father in law saying they where in a queue of ambulances waiting to get into the Royal Oldham.

Just had call to say they are out of ambulance and in a corridor along with many others.

She might have had a TIA.

A crisp chill morning, not quite frost levels, currently 6 degrees. Sunny and blue skies, best morning and day of week weatherwise.

Can't say the models are enthusing me at present, mainly SW flow which equates to dull wet weather most of the time here.

Tomorrow night and Thursday night looking potentially very interesting. Will say more tomorrow when we are closer, been burnt too many times!

Heavy dew, almost a ground frost in the rural northern lakes with a min air temp of 3.8c. Now one of those heart stopping moments of cloudless blue skies although cloud now starting to cling to the summit of Blencathra.

I have recorded rainfall for the last 15 days. Unlikely any will be recorded to today.

Is that because of the possible rain/wind can cause?

Superb walking weather in the Lake District.

Lightning risk. Strong instability and lots of KAPE sort of thing I would expect in the summer.

Second lovely October day on the run and even Sunday wasn’t too shabby.

It’s certainly a bonus for this time of year although a late extension of summer well in autumn seems to be the form horse over recent years.

I’m certainly not complying though and the longer it allows me to keep the heating off the better.

Another great day again today. A clear and chilly start with some mist/fog patches here and there which cleared with plenty of sunshine on offer again throughout today. Not quite as warm as yesterday with a high of 15.1C. Rather more unsettled again tomorrow by the looks of it.

It's a bit windy this morning, heard the wind during the night too, min of 10° .  There's  been a few strikes out in the Irish Sea, West of Wales early this morning.

Strong gusty winds this morning coming from the east due to low pressure to the South West.  Usually keeps most of the activity out to the west but the calm sunny skies of the past two days now put to bed...but "at least it will be mild"

Yes, not the nice clear start this morning that we've had over the past couple of mornings, but it is dry at the moment. Winds from the East, but all eyes to the SW though as showers/rain edge closer as the day goes on.
