Annoyingly meteociel temps seem to have lost Cambridge - however, I think the record will be further north in any case

It should re-appear from 9am hopefully!

It's appeared on there now - 31c already before 9am. Never seen anything like it in the UK.

Manchester & Biggin Hill already showing 30c on the Netweather top 20 list

Crazy right? You'd expect somewhere in the east to reach 30c first. Manchester started off at 21C today.

We need to keep an eye on the cold front aswell. If it's slower than forecast places further west will be in the action for 40 potentially aswell.

Plenty of places fast out of the blocks this morning.  Important to watch the cloud cover as well as the temperature, but vast swathes of England cloud free at the moment, max temperature so far 31C.

29C here at 9am after a low of 21C. Running at about 2C warmer than yesterday so should hit 38C if cloud free until 3pm.

Hot SE wind gusting to 18mph on the South Coast.

Comparable to winds felt in Southern Med and South America.

Or a Jet engine!

North Midlands, South Yorkshire and Vale of York don't seem to be as high so far as predicted seems London to Cambridge so far is this a correct assessment or am i reading it wrong?

Morning was never going to be the issue. I think once we get beyond 1-2ish then it'll start threatening some areas.

Current Maximum Temperatures

33°c London City Airport
33°c Cambridge

Already 33c at 9:30. Bye bye record...

Seems about right from this. Southern areas hotter first.

Fast forward a few hours to lunchtime and they've caught up or overtaken in some spots!

Those places ate further away from the frontal system and so should benefit the most this afternoon.

This morning the heat is a little more focused further south but the highest temps will transition.

Then again London probably will be in the ballpark of 40c anyway.

9.35am. Temp 30c.

Popped out to get a paper and the wind is hot, not just warm, but hot; reminds me of Corralejo, Fuerteventura on a Calima day😎

Dont blame you! We were there in May for 2 weeks and popping back for a week in October.

Crazy, within 10 mins of my last post we've jumped up to 32c. Max today is meant to be 33c here, so guess we'll flatline now.
