It's been a while since we've done one of these.

The competition is simple, guess the top temperature later next week between Wednesday 13th and Monday 18th (inclusive). For bonus prizes, also guess the county (or in the case of London, the city), and the day your top temperature will take place on.

Your forecast needs to be made to 1 decimal point (eg 25.1c).

The person who gets nearest to the max temperature (as per the daily met office extremes data) will win a three month Netweather Extra subscription. If that person also gets the county or day right, we'll double it and make it a 6 month subscription, and if they get both county and day right, we'll make it a twelve month subscription.

Remember though, the temperature is the key, the day and place are just bonuses.
In the case of more than one winner, we'll randomly draw the prize winner.

Entries need to be in, on this thread by Monday at 23:59 (BST). One entry only per person will be included, but if you want to update your forecast/guess you can - the last one you post into the thread will be the one entered. Any entries after the deadline won't be included though.

Good luck!

41.1 SURREY MONDAY 18TH JULY 2022

39.1c Cambridgeshire on Sunday.

I think this morning's wobble is just a wobble, and while the extremes were overplayed, the record will go.

40.3 Kent Sunday

We probably will be hottest as usually are unless there's an Easterly/NEly but unfortunately it's not officially recorded here as they got rid of our only official met office station so we will never know what Kent records so I'd guess somewhere else its so annoying as a local weather extreme fanatic!

They scrapped our official weather recording station here which pains me as we always used to be the hottest in these setups! As a delivery driver I went to Cambridge Heathrow and London  on the hottest day at Cambridge botanical Garden and I can tell u my van temp was hotter here by a degree! Compared to all of those but not officially recorded!

(Is there really nowhere in Kent that has an official record-verifying station at all now? I know Gravesend had the microclimate issue but...)

  • Thanks 1
