A rinse and repeat scenario from last night down here. Activity to the Southwest of Portland. Fizzled out by the time it got to the coast. Will that happen again tonight?

Hi, does anyone know if Southampton will get anything tonight? There's a storm approaching Poole but minimal lightning on the way to me...

I don't think tonight is the night!

I wouldn't rule anything out judging by the what's happening in the rest of the country.

Some of these storms are quite organised more so than I was expecting, definitely not your typical pulse storms!

Anyone know what direction these storms in the channel are going. They are all over the place

This might be a little more helpful

Northern England looks to be the sweet spot again, just hope some more fire up around Brummy before fading into the night.

Edit:Birmingham picking up on sferics now.

I was woken shortly after 3am by this rainstorm. No thunder or lightning despite the intensity.

Yeah I was utterly perplexed that that much rain coming down at once could not require deep enough convection to make sparks

Feels and looks like the atmosphere is becoming quite conducive to storms. Cells reaching a decent height. They are popping up all around and looking quite good too. I have a lot of hope for some good storms appearing across the southern counties as the sun starts to set - could make for some nice looking skies and hopefully views of distant cells as they light up
