What an incredible week this has been, by UK standards. I've not had time to view the model thread, but I'd imagine they're wondering what's happened to their usual summery, settled September! I'm sure normal service will resume next year, so they can let us have this one 😉

5 storms in 4 days here. Incredible. 😃 This year has really made up for the lack of action in previous years, infact I don't ever recall having this many storms in a single year before. More forecast today for our area. I'm just being greedy now but I still hope we get in on the action! 😁

What's creeping towards London from the SW looks like it just had it's first strike! Hopefully it will develop, and not peter out...

I'm right in the middle of that MDT from Dan today. Hopefully with storms a bit slower moving I will find it easier to keep up with them.

This was the storm that was over Scunthorpe way last night around 8pm.

Saw lots of flashing for several hours until it was dark even though it was a long way off

IMBY, I’ve been in good warning zones throughout all this thundery period but have missed out. Still not a single rumble this year. I’m in the 50% zone today, highest yet. Fingers crossed

September returning to tradition this year. Hope you’ve enjoyed some good shows down there on the IoW!

Yet again in a gap so far today but I don’t see how I can avoid some big downpours at least this afternoon.

That distant thunder will be the storm that has just erupted over Croydon.

Lightning, loud thunder , heavy rain

Me as well!

Though I did have some short periods of thunder and lightning through the summer and a short-lived distant storm to the North of here way back in the first few day's of January very early in the morning when it was just getting daylight.

It's appalling to think though that in over these last three day's of storm potential we have not had anything. We haven't even had heat lightning which is faint flashes you see at night from storms many miles away.

That would be the boom I just heard.

And another huge boom as I was typing from your direction

Just looked out the window -- some of the very many big cumuli are starting to ice!

These are big Cu - only the 2 booms and suspected rumble so far, but either way it’s going to absolutely belt it down soon!

Heard crackle thunder while I was at Egham, now in West Byfleet and a beautiful big couple of storms to my SW developing nicely. To be fair too many around to really count. Shame they aren’t very long-lived - but great looking skies in all directions 🙂
