Picking up a bit here now but surfaces are too wet for anything to settle after the last few hours of snizzle…

Yes the moderate echoes are moving in now. Doubt we’ll get any settling though.

This is actually better than I thought it’d be 😂

Goodness.

If this snizz keeps up we’ll have at least half a millimetre!

Out with the Terriers soon. Full winter gear dusted down and a survival pack as a timely reminder of the Scafell Pike incident way back in 1997.

Wish me luck everyone.

If you run the radar Met Office app forward there looks a big gap in Lancashire this afternoon and the heavy stuff going through Wales which is why there is an orange warning there.

Sleet in Formby and I just see a Amber warning published for North Wales but I think the Meseyside area won't see that much.

So far so good for Merseyside I reckon.really coming down here now in mossley hill and sticking .

Been snowing most of the morning, slowly intensifying.  I can't see the hills, completely blotted out, looking east towards the Cat ascent.  No surface dusting at all here apart from the odd shed roof.  Traffic still passable on the Cat road, but it is beginning to cover the road.  Don't mind if it doesn't stick, prefer this to a mild grim drizzly grey day.

Weve had about an inch here in Bromborough after say 70 mins of moderate snow.

Fair to say this is akready the heaviest single snow event weve had in almost a decade. Big event for us this.

👍👍👍👍 brilliant.

Moderate snow in Manchester City centre now, bigger flakes. Just turned in the past minute or so.

It’s really struggling to settle here despite the temperature being at 0C. We need some bigger flakes to lay down a surface layer. Air is too bloody dry

Ground is too warm is the  issue. There was no overnight frost so the ground wasn't allowed to chill so to speak.

Flakes will be much bigger later on as T850s get close to 0

North Wales getting hammered, just had to turn back home on commute, lost control of car but luckily avoided hitting anything.

Worst area between Holywell and Mold. Chucking it down back home here in Llandudno

Hi Chris.

Any update on the 0c line? As Crewe - being in the south of the region - needs it to move south! haha.  I'm guessing the next update will be after the 6z's

Everything white except roads and pavements, just as it was starting to stick on them the intensity has died down.

Definitely. A shame really. There’s always something in the NW to scupper the chances!

If we can hold onto the snow until later. The Met are confident that anything after 2pm will be rain!

That's amazing because if you look at the Llandudno livestream at the pier area, no lying snow

I'm expecting an update about 11:15 with the 6Z. With the last update you need another 10– 20 miles nudge south to stop you getting ice pellets and rain mix in the late afternoon, if there's any precip by then.
