Pleasant sunny start, hills out East on the Cat ascent out of town have had snow, looks like from Blakelow Road upwards, 210m/689ft.  Just wet here on the ground in town.  Temp 3.2°C.

Yes heavy snow shower arrived here, snow sticking quickly to everything, but wet snowflakes. Temp quite high at 3 degrees, but uppers, thickknesses - sub 522 dam air and dewpoints all conducive for most precipitation throughout the day to be of a snow variety - I say variety, may be graupel, or polysteryne type stuff, more sleety in lighter stuff, evaporative cooling will kick in quick and any sustained amounts could leave temporary coverings. There looks to be plenty of precipitation forecast through daylight hours, bands rather shortlived features.

Tonight a bitterly cold frosty one. Winter continues... but probably the last day that has a 'wintry feel'.

Manchester Airport recorded 21 days of falling snow that month but it wasn't 2009-10 levels of snow.

I remember those snowfalls, on one occasion it was snowing from a blue sky as I was sent home early because of the school strikes at the time. It did snow a number of times but nothing substantial.

I'd started work and can't remember anything to exciting  . I guess with temps anything falling out of the sky would be snow

Very pleasant and welcome start to the day after yesterday's sodden non-stop deluge.  A little nippy, but nothing an nice fleece/jumper won't take care of.  Sadly showers on the way and I don't think they will be full of fluffy white snow flakes you can build a snow man out of...more like Slush or just plain cold rain.

Very heavy snow now falling in my part of the lake district. For years and years I sat in houses and offices in Market Harborough (Leics) and Moulton (Northants) and watched snow go to the east and west or stop short from the north or the south. You want snow? Move north with altitude.

Potent hail shower here... leaving a temporary white cover...but the sun will make short work of that when it pops out again
