A brief light shower here around 30 minutes ago, nice convective type raindrops. A tasty line of showers developing a few miles to the West now as well.

I can feel the odd spot of rain in the air but the first narrow band of showers looks to fizzled before it reached here so we may scrape another hour so of sunshine before that lot over the coast arrives.

Ah right, I’m certainly no expert on railway stock but remember seeing a Deltic on the ELR at Rawtenstall station and the noise of it firing up was phenomenal.

Places around Moel Famau now seeing some strikes, if the line builds further south then the Peak District might see a few sparks over the next few hours.

28c and humidity into the 50’s is certainly pushing the limits of what I find comfortable now but it’s nothing that can’t be controlled by plenty of cold drinks.

time to raid the fridge.
