Now in Irwell Vale and JUST heard distant thunder I think to the north. Not on detectors.

Some bright reds showing on the radar over Burnley so it could have been from there.

given the direction of the flow, I think it won’t be long before our dry and sunny few hours turns wet.

it’s certainly looking darker to my north now.

The showers have moved away from here and some nice sunny periods to end the afternoon. Breezy out.

It’s arrived, a lovely afternoon quickly turns into a deluge.

Been dry all day here so far with sunny intervals (currently in Summerseat).

I’m Summerseat based.  Hope you enjoyed your day on the trains.  Was better weather than I expected….thunder is rumbling around now though and the covers are on at the village cricket.

Hearing some rumbles of thunder from that intense area of PPN to the north of the High Peak, difficult to say if it'll be a direct impact but it will definitely be passing close by.

55.2 mm of rain at home in the last 12 hours.

let's have this set up again in 4 months with -10 850s

Met Office issued a yellow warning at about 12.30am this morning. Felt bit late the warning.

What looked like a CG to the south of Macc accompanied with a loud crash of thunder.  Stayed dry all the way home, biblical rain here, just had third flash and loud crack, good stuff.

There hasn’t been any activity at my location today, however, last night there was thunder from about 10pm to about 4am.

There’s activity now. There’s just been lightning about 2 or 3 miles away.

Turned into a sunny and dry late afternoon and early evening.

Chris F on the Beeb was talking about a line of convergence running down the spine of the Pennines tomorrow which could create some electrical activity, and this may be of interest to anybody who happens to be in that area. And where am I heading tomorrow afternoon? Yes, across the Pennines to N Yorkshire!
