Local weather station now knocking on 23°c, nice warm breeze, not a cloud in the sky, beautiful saturday, time to 'knock the froth off a few' in the local pub beer garden, 🍺😎☀️👍

A touch warmer than most high end predictions today too I think.

Not seen 31c or 32c touted for today.More like 30c as the max.

Maybe wrong.

Ukv went for several localised 31c today, it just about nailed today and gives alot of confidence for the rest of the week.

Just a pitiful 24°C at the moment. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't overcast.

Thankfully, that'll change next week!

Only 19°C here. The change in wind direction and cloud cover has made a huge difference. Not as bad as the east were experiencing with the wind off the North Sea of course.

Wonderful warm breeze instead of that horrible chill coming down from the arctic. 27c is just lovely and warm . It's not hot. Met office seems to have given up on storms for Dudley. Looking at the radar they seem to be heading up over the SW Midlands near Hereford and Worcester. Louise Lear on BBC weather was spot on at lunch time when she said the SW Mids was the favoured spot. Any way. Back to my ice cold lager in the beer garden. Lovely. It's been a long wait for a bit of warmth but blimey when it comes its brilliant!

Enjoy it mate👍

A few clouds bubbling up in last hour but still mostly sunny. 29C. Very nice afternoon breeze has picked up taking the edge off.

It's a pretty ominous sign for the rest of the summer, isn't it?

Ominous how? It's been one of the coolest and dullest starts to summer outside of parts of Wales and the South West.

Until yesterday areas in the SE were barely in double digits.

Regardless, we nearly always have reach a 30c in June at some point (at least in my region), nothing abnormal or ominous about it.

This is actually the latest in the year that London has recorded a temp over 25c since 1986.

Clouds bubbling up on the horizon now, would be nice to see a thunderstorm!

Not in the least representative of the SE as a whole.

I assume you are thinking of areas close to the North Sea coasts to back up your point?

Most parts of the SE have been nudging 21c or more for several days now.

The east of the region has had some impressive low maxes, quite a few 3 and 4c below average readings upto the 9th June. Once you get towards London longitude though it's basically much closer to normal.

With that being said we are going to have a run if 3-5 days around 8-10c above normal so we will swing much more heavily above from now.

Uk as a whole currently 0.6c above normal for maxes...so yeah, its not been that cold away from the east.

Yeah, even until 2015, it would take at least a week of 25-26 before reaching 30c.

I’m not knocking it though. It’s about time we had some heat.

Don’t want to contradict you but wasn’t 2015 the summer that saw a 37C one day wonder?

Our nearly 30 days without rain is finally over. Rain coming down nicely. 20c from 25c earlier. The birds (blackbirds/robins) really loving it. Nature really needed this rain here. 🌧 . It has been one of the sunniest periods that I can remember here and its been amazing. I'm not jealous of everyone else getting sun/heat as we seriously did need the rain here. I hope you all enjoy what the weather throws at you this week 😊. Best regards. L.

Summer has only been going for 10 days! Give it a chance….June is going to be miles above average by next weekend.

The soldier was taking part in a rehearsal ahead of next weekend's Trooping the Colour.

And that is what this heat does to very fit young folk, what a Trooper. Just can't understand the love of this vile weather.

What do you expect? Would anyone feel comfortable stood outside in 30c heat in a thick uniform and hat, regardless of their age or fitness? 🙄

Dropped 3 degrees to 28c. Time to put some clothes back on ... But of a breeze makes it a bit chilly on a naked body in the shade lol

Pretty much the same here, very strong breeze but thankfully heated rather than chilled
