Very Very Unlucky Markyo

and again today after a few hours of sun this morning here comes the rain 🙄

I wouldn’t rate this summer at all as I’m still waiting for it to start, ok we had 2 1/2 half weeks of glorious weather in June but since then we haven’t had 2 consecutively sunny days.

Total Crap Really..

Could contain:

Certainly been a split, we've plenty of sunny weather, lot of outside trade, Temps have been just perfect i've found.

The figures are skewed somewhat by London/SE England, which I’d agree could be called overpopulated. Otherwise, not so much. Don’t forget that London has been a monster city for a century. However, I’m not arguing over the details, like you say, the fact is massive underinvestment in infrastructure is an issue and needs addressing urgently. There isn’t much we can do about too many people

NW England is very similar population density wise to the SE, as is the West Midlands. The whole country south of the the Yorkshire Dales and east of somewhere like Bristol is very very densely populated- even on a global scale.

Lovely skies just ahead of sunset tonight. Humidity lower compared to yesterday perfect.

Crops are doing lovely, corn and wheat on my walk looked almost ready to be harvested, but not a farmer so not exactly sure.

Cornfields in Coventry?..you can say bye bye to that soon when the greedy developers move in!!

The area i stay at the weekend is being over run with the greedy barstewards..they'll be no countryside left on this island soon..they just dont give a damn!!

That's in Warwickshire south of Coventry, not coventry itself...

Part of a green belt so urban growth is controlled.

Even with a wet summer, Derwent is still low 🥴

Yes correct @metwatch..the river Derwent weir in Derby city centre is very low but i'm sure it wont take long to make amends in this rain infested climate!

It's not just rainfall that is causing reservoir levels to be lower these days, even in wetter summers.

People overlook the fact that the population has grown so much from say the 1970s. There is a much higher demand for water and a lot more strain on the water supply.

Governments have not invested nearly enough in infrastructure to cater for the extra people and also greater water usage per capita.

In the mid 70s the population was 56 million and it's now nearly 68 million. Yet there has been almost no investment in new reservoirs etc.

The last 20 years have seen crazy population growth for such a small, already overcrowded island.

its called government lies and greed!

I’d agree much of England is densely populated, especially those areas where it rains less. So you’d think there’d be a lot of reservoir building and other means of ensuring adequate water supply. But unfortunately greed and shortsightedness wins the day, as ever

Hardly any sun now. Long stretches of cloud with sun popping out for 10-20 seconds every 5 minutes or so. I've given up and come in! ...

Very much nuisance value here. Keeps starting to rain then stops. Wish it would just do one.

This has probably been the cloudiest "sunny" day of the year so far IMBY. Forecast was sun all day but i think we have had around 3 hours total today. Absolutely massive clouds knocking about all day! Glad I was at work lol.

Why am I not surprised that the hot ensembles failed to manifest and yet the cool ensembles are practically guaranteed...

Now you know what it feels like to be a coldie in the Winter!
