so far here the usual has happened. In the morning storms just too far the to the east, this afternoon storms just too far to the west...I'm looking forward to this evening when we get storms just too far to the north.

despite being in the 60% warning area we are still waiting for our first rumble or even single drop of rain.

So is it just north west England now that’s going to get most of the storms for the rest of the afternoon ?

Another storm is heading your way, but not as intense ATM.

Still thundering and lightning from this storm but seems to be slowly moving away. That was a cracker! 😆

Nothing here so far.

Can’t work out if the cold front has been through yet but it’s still as warm and incredibly humid as it was earlier - current temp/dew point split is 24C/17C 🥵 slightly encouraged by all the storms near the Channel Islands but the lightning again seems reluctant to head our way

I don't think it has, look how active it is from the Channel Isle up through Wales! I think that's the cold front

Frontal boundary has passed London albeit it was less active in the south. The showers approaching are part of a squall line.

The stuff east of Milton Keynes is the cold front. The stuff west is attached to the convergence zone over Wales.

Rain came to nothing and it's so humid again. Just give me a storm!

Engrossed in F1 qualifying, so I can't hear anything - may have been a rumble?!

Latest 12z UKV showing some supercell looking thing in Leicestershire moving into Lincoln. Atmosphere would sure suggest it 👏🌩️

Looks like the forecast has changed - most active storms aren't even in the MetOffice warning area. Arome has renewed CAPE developing in the south/SW from 2pm onwards today, radar looking right for it too. Reckon we could see new storms around the M4 this evening

Since my photo of the anvil a short time ago, another updraft back-built behind it and is currently maturing into its own anvil. Pretty impressive the speed that it went up.

Currently between Buxton and Macclesfield. Getting concerned that the modelled storms are those across NW England. If that is the case then i've missed them.
