I agree with allseasons it’s likely the gap between two hail curtains. It’s too skinny IMO for a downburst and too weird a shape for a funnel cloud/tornado

Thank you. I need to invest in a decent camera !

I agree, it was a weird shape, yes.

To small for a micro burst more like, was it spinning?

No. Not that I could tell, it just appeared from the storm like a gust but gentle, then after a couple of minutes it just disappeared.  It was on the back end of 1 storm with another new one right behind it. The photos took on my phone don't do it justice or show the colour differences very well

Trees down from that Holbeach storm

Sound more like straight line wind and a shelf cloud, wasn't there something about the met recording a 70mph wind gust, this is probably the result.

A line going up from Liverpool to Central Wales? Anything of note?

Going nuts in Central Wales going by the lightning apps.

Maybe last chance saloon for us tonight? If it heads a bit more east like the Cumbria storms we 'could' have a decent storm

Could contain:

Too far west for us I think

Yep the other poster is right, it's a gap.

WRS once a trough coming right through here in a few hours. Maybe the stuff in Wales is the first sign of it.

About 100,000 strikes for us and the North Sea today if you take off the French storms. Me and Jay had a fair amount of that in a high risk but also I think had Sheffield where my grandparents live and they see the forecast but that had a very noticeable gap in it.

I have faith that storm in wales will reach East Yorkshire 😂😂

I hope not 🫣 I'm already knackered and if that was to reach here it would be about 1am 🤣.   Still part of me hopes it keeps going and matures into the mother of all UK storms! Lol

Very dark heavy clouds over head in Macclesfield now. Not a breath of wind, misty, and eerie.

It looks like it's doing a right turn judging by the last few returns on the radar,...maybe Stoke to Derby might be in the firing line if it holds of course,

I don't think it's right turning I just think it's getting bigger and widening

Hovering around a strike every second and a half with the new storm. Don't know about recent but UKV had this new storm forming late evening on some of its runs and travelled far. This one could go right into the night possibly.

Scratch that, over a strike a second now.

It's def a right mover just like the Cumbrian storm did as that was going due north at first.
