Just been through it and come out the other side.

Have know better Squalls to be honest. Rain spike for a minute and a few gusty howling moments and that was it. Radar looks far more impressive 🤭

That’s good for the damage side of things but not good for people who wanna see action Ig.

Been a very interesting end to the year with all the country wide convective activity, thunderstorms and tornadoes.

Yeah. I didn’t expect anything until late February march time. Always a pleasant surprise.

Yeah shame we can't have it both ways. Hopefully that was a waterspout seen from Isle of Wight 🤞 and not a tornado, especially when it is dark.

Best squall of the year here, haven't seen white out rain and hail like that for a few years with the added bonus of thunder and lightning. All depends on if you hit the sweet spot or if you find yourself in a gap I suppose.

Definitely have to be lucky with them, fizzled to a fart up here when it went over. To get lightning is definitely a plus as winter squalls usually aren’t conducive.

Autumn and early winter Squalls are quite good here sometimes as the sea temps are still relatively warm, good for convection on the coast.

Yeah. Completely agree. They sometimes have more action than the summer ones nowadays

I'm chuffed for you, so glad to hear that you had a good squall and that someone got my share 😁

You are right about the sweet spot, just like Thunderstorms... They skirt round the edges of Chilterns these days. Hope that's not the start of a trend! Do enjoy seeing the pictures taken especially from the seashores 😊
