Day 10 in Wirral .. remember Storm Kyrill 18th Jan 2007 , one of the most destructive euro wind storms this century ,,  primarily down to the path it took across northern europe, covering many countries
We were at West Kirby waiting for the wind to ease off a tad , lakeside ano readings were showing gusts in excess of 80kts

Kyrill in Wirral has a ring to it

Looking at earlier satellite imagery it looks like the wave is already more developed than what earlier models had so the 12Z UKMO isn't a surprise with a deeper low and a stronger core or strong winds.

Can see the cloud ahead on the below and that's an hour or two back.

Really not looking good this system at all now for specific areas...

I’m a little confused on the time here. Is that 4.00 pm? I had thought it pushed through much earlier.

Just to be precise, the red warning is for a two hour period in the early hours and the red moves into counties as the storm moves east etc. so no red warning for daylight working hours. https://www.met.ie/tomorrow.html

If it's red stay in bed

UKV 15z in line with the UKMO 12z and has the low deepening to 967/968 mB in the early hours, and maximum wind gusts of just over 100mph in West Ireland, then 70-80 mph more widely across Ireland and North England on Monday morning and early afternoon.

Is that ECM run an outlier or a last minute downgrade?

It doesn't look too different from GFS or UKMO, just a little bit of a weaker low, the UKV 18z is consistent with other runs though and it is high resolution

Interesting. Not just the wind core to look out for then, some severe weather possible to the S of it.
