Well that was an eventful jaunt around Tameside

🙈🙈 Van and car crashed right outside our house this morning…  crashed through neighbours wall… police and fire engine 🚒 blocking road off…

sorted a few bits n bobs in house in stalybridge were having new tenants move in after Christmas… roadworks popping up and disappearing all about and traffic weaving in and out everywhere 🙈🙈🙈 saw a pedestrian collapse in Denton and members of the public ran to her aid… the air ambulance was circling over Denton/hyde… there was another accident over near m60 at roundabout at Stockport… crazy day

but the drizzle disappeared late morning and a few hours sunshine ☀️ and blue skies clouded over again now 🙄 was 9c this morning now 6c

looking at Glossop facebook pages the van hit the wall and landed on top of a car? Couldn’t see with fire truck blocking view

A decent December day, blustery chilly wind, but importantly it was bright at times and the sun poked through briefly. Fells were clear, sadly lacking any snow cover... The outlook is dismal, grey, wet weather.. no thanks! I always hope for just one fine cold frosty clear day between Christmas and New Year for winter walking, here's hoping. Some years very good such as 2020, but most recently have been terrible in this respect, the last 2 included.

Early rain cleared from here around mid morning, then was a reasonable day after, just the briefest of light showers around mid afternoon. Not as mild today, highest temperature was at midnight, 10.8C. Back to single digit temperatures by this afternoon though.

I'm afraid patience is going to be tested in terms of snow and cold this side of the year at the very least. Doesn't look to me to be anything all that interesting on the horizon, we've definitely moved away from a wintry xmas and cannot see that suddenly being put back on the menu again, unlike xmas dinner. Hopefully January at some point will deliver but we've been here before and before you know it February is here and spring soon after, time flies. I'll take March or April snow in a heartbeat as it's still enjoyable but it's just not the same as in winter. Meanwhile I'll keep looking at these cams and dream of getting of a quarter of what they get there.

Just went outside and heard 🎵 “Christmas every day “ 🎶 then remembered the mountain rescue are doing the Santa sleigh 🛷 rounds about here tonight 🎅🏼🎄🎅🏼🎄

Yes anything remotely wintry went a few days ago over Christmas… although cooler not colder…

Had a half decent afternoon yesterday very briefly saw the sun.  Currently (6.15am) 8.8°C,  feeling mild again and it's already a little breezy.  Some showers about, spitting with rain whilst out feeding the birds. 🐦🌬

Gusty winds throughout the night here, dry at the moment and a mild start, 8.6C. A blustery day coming up and then winds strengthening further overnight.

The forecasters underestimated the amount of snow that would fall at low levels. Remember looking out the window and being surprised to see snow falling that Monday evening. Left a covering.

Oops, Rob has got Preston in the wrong place unless there is also a place called Preston in south Cumbria

Showery rain has moved in here and it's a dark, wet and miserable morning now.

The issue with Storm Pia as I think it’s now been named by the Danish Met Office will not necessarily be the wind speeds but the sustained nature of the strong winds over the next 48 hrs or so & remaining pretty gusty right up to Xmas really. Give me bright and frosty weather any day over this damp, mild but not really feeling it wind tunnel 🙃

Light levels so poor this morning my back garden cam is still in infra red (night mode)...crazy, but alas...one more day and then the days will get longer.

A dull, wet at times & windy theme for the next few days, and temps above or around average.  Bog standard.

Absolutely!! I think that was a feature of last December's cold spell.....it was cold, but there was lots of blue skies - and it was dry. Managed to get out on the bicycle quite a few times.....whether off road, or on treated roads. When it's wet & windy, I can't be bothered anymore......

The line in the song ' I believe in Father Christmas', by Greg Lake, ' they said they'll be snow at christmas.... but instead it just kept on raining'... couldn't be more true to describe what we usually see! This year included.

Currently raining, and outlook rain for next few days - miserable stuff has to be said.
