Just heading over to stalybridge one of our house’s chimneys collapsed 🙈🙈 tenants were moving in today 🙈🙈

I'm assuming you have special access as Huddersfield Road is closed.

Ours is the chimney collapsed and the ridge tiles have come over into the back garden…

Looks like the tall roof aerial acted as a lever to give it extra side force.

On a less severe note, my garden has become more of a pond.

Vortices induced vibrations on pole probably vibrated chimney to pieces

Road completely closed now demesne drive… might have to go get a chippy tea around the corner… only had two coffees before we came over… roofers up now sorting it…

Anyone got a drone that can deliver a flask of coffee and some sandwiches to Will and Paddy?

Dry and a bit brighter here now but no doubt we’re between showers and it won’t be long before they’re back again.

Some hefty showers this morning through to early afternoon, cleared through to leave some dry bright weather to end the afternoon.

Torro has given a provisional rating of T5 for the Stalybridge tornado which is categorised as an 'Intense Tornado' with wind speeds of 137-160 mph based on the TORRO scale.

Quite eventful for some last night, thankful I've not read/heard of any injuries.  Sorry though for those with damaged property, @WillinGlossop hope the roofer made things safe for now and you managed to get back home.  Possibly another storm on the way for Saturday?  May be called Henk?  No warning yet.  More rain no doubt to add to the 2023 total before the year is out.

Wet first half of day, drier pm with some brightness and nudged 10° C.
