Since the last pulse of snow cleared through a visible thaw has set in. Fun and games over I suspect for the day. Was a decent event for here, next lot of precipitation likely to be rain and wash away what's left which is a shame.

Yes a few flakes dancing in the air...a little bit of wintry precipitation spawning south of the main band to the north.  The sweet spot at the moment appears to be Red Rose county - Lancaster.

Yeah just a matter of clinging on to this coverage into the evening now for me I think - hopefully we have some coverage still after a brief temp rise going into the rest of this weeks cold. Should hopefully see it through to the weekend.

Radar is incorrect now for ormskirk there’s no precipitation here at all now. Snow is partially melting though remaining on grass and so on. Feels cold out still.

No rapid thaw here. Should still be snow on ground tonight which, with any luck, will stick around till weekend. Could be some sneaky snow showers Thursday also. TBH, am banking this one!

Not convinced. Were always marginal in low areas and no real melt here yet. Even as a kid they often turned to slush

As much as I am buzzing about the snow we have had in the NW today (totally unexpected) I think the warm sector that was always forecast to come in, is now coming in.

Hopefully those further east and north of where I am will escape too much melt, but think most of central & west Lancs and Merseyside & western Mancs are going to see quite a bit of melt before dusk 🫤

Still bloody chuffed with what we have had though!!!! 😀😀

A forecaster from the Met Office has been on Radio Merseyside this afternoon saying chance of snow again Thursday into Friday before eventually becoming wet & windy by the weekend, which still only takes us to Jan 20th 21st. 👍

Left home this morning to a covering on all surfaces. Over the hill to Huddersfield and hardly nothing.

Nothing in York.

Nothing in Barnsley.

Currently sat at the top of Dovestones, snow flakes in the air and the view is like a wintry postcard.
The northwest has done well out of this compared to others.
