It looks like a weekend washout on the cards for many of us in the north, so I had a productive morning heading down to Hollinsclough at 7am to hike 1/4 the way up a muddy Parkhouse Hill with all the camera gear for the classic 'Dragons Back' image. The forecast had been for clearer skies up to Sunrise although in typical fashion it decided to cloud over by the time I arrived, a few breaks here & there allowed for a bit of early morning colours to briefly break through.

Most noticeable was that it wasn't cold at all even with the clearer skies beforehand, having on 2x baselayers, jumper, and down jacket was a bit 'overkill' 😆

I've posted some of these before but while we await the Christmas weather (hopefully snow), here are some excellent pics from 1963 & the 1800's

respectively.

I didn't see Cillian Murphy this time around but I have bumped in-to Paddy McGuinness at the same place filming a segment for Top Gear back in the mid-summer of 2021, it's one of those quieter places away from the usual 'Instagram sunrise' sites such as Mam Tor although it did get popular for a while after the last series of Peaky Blinders.

It's either having one of those weird wobbles or it's stubbornly correct, hopefully the former.

Looking at the snow that had blown down into Glossop, the top of Woodhead was probably clear😂
