Been raining here since 8am this morning, quite heavy now and a bit blustery. Last week is a distant memory already!

Couldn't have 2 opposite weeks, 2 sides of winter.. last week my preference by far.

Just having a break from soup making.

The wind is starting to gust and I can hear it through the cooker ventilation hood.  Rain lashing the back window too.

Normal service definitely resumed.

Very grey and wet.  Lots of surface water on the roads.  River Mersey had a bit of torrent on at Northenden, levels looked OK.

Feels we've stepped back 2 months... a very dull low light day, doesn't feel the winter solstice was 5 weeks ago nearly, an early descent into dusk.

It is at this stage in the winter after nearly 3 months of dark, the longing for sun and light becomes ever more..

We seem to have missed the worst of the rain and really only grey and damp until now. As for the wind, nothing to speak of so far, but the yellow warning has only just kicked in, so likely that the wind will increase in strength this evening/night.
