What you trying to do Ted?

Also got my eye on the weather. Me and the girls will be at the panto in an hour. Won't be out til 5pmish so depends on what the weather is doing as to whether we get drowned and blown to kingdom come! Getting the bus back too!

The "suggestion" is that the line becomes very disjointed, which in other words its no longer a squall line, but lets see.

Oh no it doesn't.

It's looking a lot less discrete on the Cornwall map than it was earlier, and the wind has now dropped like a rock. Dining room ceiling is dripping (slowly) into a bucket and about a spoonful of rain was blown under the back door just now but I am gritting my teeth at some of the weather forecasts this afternoon...

"Do you want good or bad news. Well, there isn't any good news

This afternoon and evening just goes downhill, I'm only being honest."

The main reason I started posting on here was because this kind of hysterical nonsense from the local weather team fuels my anxiety. It is not that bad, it's raining. There is plenty of good news - there's a robin yelling his head off in the garden, the traffic on the road outside is moving normally ie at slightly too many miles per hour for the Senior Gentlecat's comfort. Admittedly that's just a small sheltered corner in mid Cornwall, I don't speak for everyone. I went to bed last night and cried worrying about what was going to happen today and what I would do if the wind damaged the house and whether the chimney might fall on us in bed.

Yes, it will carry on being wet and windy. No, I'm not going to die of it. I'm going to blow my nose now and get on with my patchwork.

It’s about to get squally by the looks of it. Weirdly, on the front rather than the back of the rainband.

Yes often referred to a Squall line or Quasi Linear Convective system,  these often form with steep  temperature gradients either side of the cold front ,or where a dry line is......☺

Looks like a good few of us are in for a rocky time according to the netweather radar . Eerily quiet just for the minute here .

Rio de Janeiro.

Apart from sun, I’m hoping for a few decent thunderstorms too.

Only place anyone has tried to mug me with a butter knife. Incredible place, but totally nuts.

Anti climax here! A bit windy and some moderate rain… now raining lightly. Was looking forward to a proper squall! Oh well.

It’s nuts indeed but then I’ve had a knife pulled on me in Bristol so… 😅

Same here Silver Wolf total bust. I’ve spent an hour in the car anticipating the active front but in 15 mins (3 radar frames) it died a sad death 😡 waste of time.
Perusing a ❤️& passionate hobby of weather in this part of the country (love of extremes & Snow, Blizzard’s & cold) is as hard & soul destroying as a climate activist/stop oil fanatic like Greta Thimble burger telling Red Necks in a USA Monster truck rally to go all Electric 😡

Just looked at the radar looks like squall line is  heading this way!  little while until it does . Assuming I'm looking at the right thing  😅 ended up with a migrane today so vision a bit wonky 🤣.   Fairly calm here at the moment , it's been windier.
