No surprise to see the yellow thunderstorm warning has been removed from the Southwest and moved further north removing southern parts of our region.

Back in Wiltshire now but not expecting much if anything. Right at the bottom of the new warning area. We’ll grow ‘em and the north will get ‘em!

Morning All, a bright and sunny start to the day. The overnight low of 10.7°C at: 05:03, currently 23.0°C, RH62% and a light breeze from the SE.

About time too, clearly it wasn't going to happen.

Andy Bown Same here, quite optimistic for today as there are already a couple of visible Cb. Peak heating still to come. Low tide this afternoon for my area, which creates a nice empty but moist estuary which I'm hoping will help things locally.

First electrical activity of the day to our NW, just past the Black Mountains. I can see the top of the cell from our highest floor, but it's too far away really to see anything else.

noonoo418 Yes, big electrical cell over the estuary and another just to the north of us.

Can't hear anything yet and possibly won't, as the cells are tracking northward.

There's a smaller cell heading directly for Portishead as I type. No T&L on it so far, but it is growing quite quickly.

Even with the sea mist making it hazy, there's folks enjoying the late afternoon sunshine:

Meanwhile as expected the thunderstorms are rolling up through the west midlands, still cant figure out how the MetO thought is would be sub M4!

Me neither because NOTHING suggested the poor MetO forecast would actually happen, common sense and understanding  prevailing, it meant it was stoopid to predict the warning sub M4.

Just started spitting here. Managed 16°c but the wind has a definite chill, real feel of 10°c. Warm indoors though 😊
