Well it's snowing here, so likely to be snow when / if it gets to Bingley, at least on the hills.

Looking at the radar, that lot over South West Scotland / Irish Sea is what's going to give us the snow later, if it stays that intensity then it's going to be fun. History has shown it often intensifies once it makes landfall, all depends on conditions.

Dry here and -1.5c.   Seems to be some snow around Wetherby down to Selby unless it is a radar anomaly.

Hard to know where that precip will ultimately end up but we are going to have to content with milder air and positive dewpoints later,  much of the snow in the NW will likely be washed away at low levels unless areas are lucky enough to be under very heavy precipitation.

Radar has the first band of the main stuff arriving here around 11am. Looks to be stronger and earlier than forecast, so going to be a fun time for schools. A second heavier band is looking to come around nightfall, perfect for 'Rush hour'. Could well see 15cm+ from this here, if it doesn't lose intensity.

Currently dry in Barnsley with an overnight low of -1.9c.

Looking at radar, ppn is 50-100 miles further South and appears to be moving South East rather East South East as compared to models and last nights local forecast.  If it continues on the same track, and what is shown further North West, then we may see a covering before the end of the day.

Met Office Website now shows us having heavy snow from 10am through till midnight. Believe the website is just a raw UKV output when within 48 hours. Looking at the UKV's 3Z run that's showing showers widely across North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire throughout the day, but the 3Z doesn't even have the current main band of precipitation over Northern Ireland on it, so who knows.

Okay, I'm going to ask...

How much do you reckon will fall around Huddersfield? I have been watching for the last couple of weeks and genuinely didn't think we would get anything at all (precipitation either above or below us!), now woken up to light snow and a dusting!

Manchester getting hammered with full on snow this morning looking at the radar. Can see it being killed by the Pennines though. Shame!

I was surprised to see light snow falling for a while at my works yard in NE Doncaster when I arrived, nothing back home in Sheffield, hopefully things will adjust a bit and a few of us will get in on the action that perhaps weren't expecting to.

Says snow this morning for Sheffield but cannot see it happening. Peak district has always been a snow stopper from westerly snow

Not expecting snow here, if we cant get snow im ready for spring.

Enjoy the snow to those that get it ❄️❄️❄️

Forecast is still for rain at lower levels today and tonight reading it which would be infuriating haha! Bloody warm sector in the mini low. Fingers crossed some of us see some snow 🤞🌨️

Suspect there will be a fair amount of nowcasting today.

The warm sector has come in to play more than originally forecast a few days ago, partly due to the front being a little further north, 850's rising to -3 for many this evening could make things very marginal, higher ground looks ok though, rain later at lower elevations. The snow that is currently falling with uppers still at -9 so all good for those with precipitation right now.

Proper snow starting to fall here now, rather than the little spots it has been; just in time for the school's to open 😝
