At the moment the much colder air is still a few hours away and likely to get even colder from then on. You can see on the radar the dividing line between sleet and snow. A large mass of precipitation is currently in Europe coming towards us. One to watch

That stuff forecast to cross from Holland into the Southern North Sea looks interesting, especially for Kent.

I have just posted in the model thread about this, tbh i have a sneaky feeling a swathe of England are going to get caught out later, the ppn is Belgium crossing the channel looks organized and long, get the sea into the mix and should start to move in land later but im anticipating alot more than currently modeled.

Im pretty sure that's tied up in the colder uppers

Just had a light dusting here, snow-grain type.  Temps have fallen to 1.2c and skies now clearing from the east.  Nice while it lasted though.

Indeed, the radar seems to be suggesting the north sea is really kicking things off over the last few frames.

I take it all back, it’s proper snow now and starting to settle on the ground

Apparently snowing in Tunbridge wells

Well, yes it is. It was just graupel at first, but currently there are now a few small flakes mixed in.

The lawn now has a slight white tinge where the moss is! Just about enough to make the roofs of houses and cars white.

Heavy burst in Maidstone for 10 mins but unfortunately it’s all just slushy puddles or wet in most places, hopefully we can get some more thicker and intense stuff later looking at the radar

Sky News just said..

" We've already seen snow fall in kent today, but the potential for heavier snow later is a real threat "

Hi all!  It snowed lightly and settled on rooftops here in brighton.  I'm very close to the Downs.  It's stopped now and was light but I see white!  A bit 🙂
