Big fluffy flakes now, surprised as I thought it was going to be just small stuff.

MOGREPS give a high (90%+) probability of >1CM across Sussex, NW Kent, Surrey and higher ground of S London today. A much smaller <10% probability of >5CM. We should see surface convergence begin to focus showers into N Kent/SE london > Sussex this afternoon.

Suspect that 10% is a little on the low side.

Got this horrible feeling we are going to get stuck between two convergence zones 😕

Just caught the edge of one of the yellow blobs going down the channel and it was heavy for a couple of minutes. At the moment all the good stuff is off the coast in this area.

What did fall laid readily though so for those of you who do get the convergence zones later it should be all good.

Looks like many areas could be getting at least a few cm today, where are the people that said yesterday that air pressure would be too high for much precipitation? This is what really cold upper temperatures combined with our relatively warm seas can produce!

Persistent settling snow here right by the coast.

Proper flakes now, coming off the North Sea. Time to go 'shopping'!

Light hail in Hopton not enough to stick, but sky very dark now.Something's on its way. Also wind gusting a fair bit by the sea.

It came out of nowhere, was seeing a comedian, when we arrived it was dry and chilly. After the first support act I popped out for a smoke and it was snowing. When we came out after the headliner it was 6inches thick plus laying snow!

We made it to Charing Cross just as the boards all changed to 'cancelled'. Ended up drinking in a very trendy gay bar as it was one of the only places open, paying 10 quid for a beer just to keep out of the snow while we waited to see if the night bus would still run.

A proper adventure!

finally got our relief after doing a night/day/night and then around 10 in the morning the guys got in. 39 hours total working.

the gay bar? there's one under the arches at charing cross i used to pass when going to get the train after work. were some sights to behold outside it on a Sunday morning 😮

after the 2010 event all charing cross was closed, i walked down the road to Westminster pier and got a river bus home to woolwich arsenal. with all of London at a standstill it was absolutely unbelievable that me and my mate were the only passengers on that boat. and better still i got a discount fare for showing my Ministry of defence ID card 😄

South west London snow shield has been activated. Probably the most frustrating area of the south east to live in for snow. 🙂

I don't think I could find the bar again if I tried, it was very much a case of any port in a storm! It was bloody lovely place, music at a reasonable volume, beer in tip top shape if stupidly overpriced! They were doing an absolutely roaring trade as everyone had the same idea!

There seems to be alot accumulating over the North Sea. If this continues into the Evening as the temperature drops off the Met Office could end up with egg on their face for not issuing a warning.

Thought I would post up the following Youtube clip, for those new members in our Region, wondering about the dynamic process taking place over our Region, currently.

Apologies, as it's on the other side of "The Pond" but it is the same process as what is occurring over our region at the moment, albeit on a much larger scale.

Mmm, no worries about marginal Dew Points, there!!

Tom Q. 👍

Most PPN seems to be south of the M25 in a line from Northfleet to Brighton and missing London currently 😞
