Bit of a bust locally in the end, seen proper snow falling which was a plus and some winters have past without even that!

Some cars driving past with a whole load of snow on roofs...

Is Reading and its surronding areas included in this group or should I be in the southern one, not the SE one?  There should be a map or something that shows what areas actually are.

Well, everyone's very nice here so draw up a chair and feel welcome.

Is it going to be any good for snow for us though? Northerlies aren't usually great for us down here

Definitely. . It wasn't what we hoped for but it was nice to see snow falling at least; I've ended up with a slight dusting on surfaces away from the ground.:cold-emoji:

Higher areas around Sevenoaks the place to be today! A very good effort for those in the south east today.

Yep I've been at Bourghgreen all day and it was snowing heavy since 10am till about 4pm. Roads were a nightmare, cars stuck and a few shunts. I measured about 5 cm of snow. I was amazed that driving home just a few miles and i was back to green grass and just a sprinkling of snow. Crazy.

I had to go into the office today which is in Tunbridge wells, it was very light to start with but them it really started to come down around 12pm. it covered roofs quickly, roads just got a bit slushy but not bad at all, all things considering. I was on the train on the way home and snow disappeared as we got closer to Battle, Hastings which was such a shame.   I am cold through to my bones now though. i hate being cold.

If anyone worries that a northerly can't deliver the goods look up January (27th?) 2004.

We had about 3 inches in less than an hour and thundersnow. Was amazing.

I remember hearing news about the squal line moving south and predicted it would hit SE around rush hour so left the office early. I just got home to near Blue Bell Hill and it just absolutely dumped it down.

The roads were a mess and people were abandoning cars around the hills of Walderslade and Lordswood.

Can't believe it was 20 years ago - time flies

I remember this well , I also heard about this squall line and was begging my line manager to give me a lift to woking station early, I was working in bookham and knew a remote station like that would be crippled. Anyway we left late and it started to rain, I remembered my boss saying and laughing " see you had nothing to worry about" 5 minutes later she couldn't hardly see in front of her. I managed that evening to get pretty much the last fast train out of woking as an hour later the lines we're crippled as normal. I was telling my boss for the next week that I told her so 🤣😂. It was epic .

Seem to be drifting  north west,

And less the blob gets much wider it won't get here...

It's possible it will intensify and grow bigger though...
