Got the -10C 850hPa isotherm making its way down through England tomorrow, which Is what I and likely many others class as very cold air for UK standards, especially for a northerly. Even with sunny conditions temps will definitely struggle to climb above 1-2C for most in the region bar from far SW tomorrow. Not bad going for a northerly in a warmer global climate I have to admit. Snow maker for northern Scotland this.

boring with no precip, may as well be mild

Been watching these the last few radar scans, not expecting much if anything as they are only light, plus may not be cold enough just yet but maybe something to keep a eye on for later.

Noticed this too, along with a few heavier echos just NW of that.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a shower or two make there way inland tonight.

Hopefully, as even a light cover would make it something and would last most of the week.

Had a heavy rain shower earlier, around 3pm, followed by a rain/snow graupel mix afterwards. It's a shame that the precip didn't reach here a few hours later, the cold air was digging in and it was a wintry mix, but if that had fallen now, it would have been snow. Such fine margins on this isle of ours 😂

Maybe grasping at the proverbial straw, but the showers through the gap are making inroads. Could they make it this far....................... I wonder 😇

Maybe a few flakes getting into the central Midlands shortly, and heavier showers around the gap.

A slight surprise, like I said earlier wouldn't be surprised to see a few heavier showers move inland as winds veer NW later in the night..

Goodnight all.

Steering flow seems to be mostly north now so the cloud & showers are just passing to my west.

I'm under clear skies now and temperatures are just collapsing, it was 2C 45 mins ago, now at 0.5C so the cold air is truly here. Areas west of me look better for any remaining showers to head inland.

Edit: 45 mins later down to -0.1C

Reports of light snow even at see level in north west so , should be snow if anything was to reach here ❄️👍🏻

Got a bit of icy dust falling here, I wouldn't really call it snow but it's a good sign for if the heaver looking cluster moving onshore makes it down here.

Funny enough, my thoughts when looking at the latest radar, emmm 🧐

It'll be Telford that’ll get it 🤗

Anyway guys we have to laugh how our regional house was so excited just 4 or 5 days ago in that this forthcoming week we was looking at something special regarding big predictions of us seeing a foot of the white stuff

BUT….eventually it came down to this 🤣🤣🤣 you’ve gotta laugh 😉🤗

Pathetic isn’t it, to think I spent over 2 weeks following the model thread 🤨

northern Scotland must love these setups, absolute rash of heavy snow showers up there

Could be some snow for parts of Shropshire, Staffordshire, and Worcestershire tomorrow, but in general it's a disappointing outlook for the region as a whole.

Telford's got it! Not cold enough and too short-lived to settle there I think.

I know, right in the middle of the day during the small amount of daylight that we have at this time of year. Typical 🙄

How much snow do you think Telford will have  ?
