Aye, LB, last name of former world snooker champion, name of footballer, and ending in 'rain',

can understand saying 'roll on spring' or summer, but not wanting rain and storms, feel these members are trolling

89.5 mm of rain in the first week of December makes it the wettest first week of any month since June 2012 which recorded 89.8 mm.

The rain really has felt relentless during this week so I'm not surprised by this 😒

Next Wednesday onward looking sunnier than of late, but remaining mild. I'll take that over what we currently have any day.

A fresh thread for everyone in the Midlands to chat about their weather through Winter 23/24. Thanks to a suggestion from @Dancerwithwings - this thread will lock (automatically) at the end of February and a new Spring discussion should start.

Hopefully it's a fun winter, with plenty to chat about.

Odd gust touching 70mph here on the Davis, with heavy rain. The wind is howling through the plantation at the back of the house.

I know, right in the middle of the day during the small amount of daylight that we have at this time of year. Typical 🙄

60mm for the month now been a very wet first ten days.

Some photos from around the River Avon passing through the village of Brandon, just outside Coventry from a friend, some flooding there but could be much worse! High pressure is coming very soon though.

Amazing how they get the timing correct on a Sunday.

Actually it started at 10 and by 14:00 had left 10.4mms.

Showers forecast for this evening again.

Decided to head down to the same area but check it out with my drone. Looks like the Avon is starting to lower now, but still a fair amount of standing water left from previous over-topping. Could be much worse though if the Rainfall carried on!

First photo below corresponds to the first 3 I'm quoting myself to above, with that area in Brandon village all dry now this afternoon!
