Rough night here even for our Mountain village that’s used to it. The wind is rushing down Llanberis pass from Capel Curig that has had a 90mph gust earlier today. In the past the power has gone off with less so I’m surprised  it’s still on.

Peak winds look to be around 10pm up here, but we've already just had a gust of 57mph even here in the relatively sheltered East.

How long can stuff stay in the fridge and freezer without electricity?

If you have any ice stick it in the fridge if the power goes, that will help it stay cool longer

Very quiet around Liverpool,  I think we'll be pretty sheltered compared to most

That's some hold that. The wind is getting worse, so they'll have to land or divert soon.

Alton Staffordshire Moorlands - typical gusty weather here as of yet ao nothing too out of ordinary.

However if this storms winds are going to peak over the storms weve had in thenlast 5 years, in our remote spot with overhead power cables weve never not had a power outage.

When are the peak winds forecast for my patch?

Trying a different route now by looks of it, maybe another airport.

Looks like they're trying to land on the North - South runway after failing to land on the East-West.

Crosswind will be near limits.

Will not runna fridge and freezer though.

I do need sort power long term. As every time we have an outage it scares me. Mostly for heating tbh. I hate being cold

Loftus has had a gust of 76mph which isn't far from your neck of the woods (a much more exposed location mind!)

Doesn’t seem too bad here. Must be getting some shelter from the Welsh uplands to the west and southwest.

It's bugged out of landing on N-S runway too and is going around. Must surely divert to Belfast.

Wind at LBA currently 190-220 25 gusting 39 knots so more or less a straight crosswind. Both of tonights Aer Lingus are cancelled but there's a few Jet 2's due later. I'll listen in on my scanner but will be surprised if they attempt an approach. Kudos to any pilots flying tonight.

Needs to land soon or a shortage of fuel might come into play.

EIN55N gone around, you can see from the FR24 data just how powerful the winds are when they turned to face the headwind and groundspeed rapidly dropped to 92kts. On approach they were dropping 100ft with each data-package return and I can't imagine they got anywhere near 'minimums' with the low-cloud and rain, even on a CATIII approach.

It's normally a 2 hour flight and they're now approaching 4 hours in the air.

I don't live far from the airport, and I can tell you the gusts are quite forceful and wild. Here's hoping they get on the ground soon.
