A few showers of hail late this afternoon and the evening so far with the wind picking up has changed the benign feel of earlier half of the day.

There was a dusting of snow above about 600m first thing, reminding me it is still only 12 Feb, despite daffodils about to burst open.

A rather drab grey wet outlook, not inspiring in the slighest. February can sap all energy after 3 long dark months..

Heard the rain when I went to bed last night but it didn’t keep me away so it was either not that heavy here or I was tired, probably a bit of both as I after a couple of later nights, I usually start the working week more tired than I end it.

Not the best of forecasts today with rain setting in to give an increasingly wet afternoon and  evening and not much better tomorrow.

No surprise at all that when the outlook is anything but cold and seasonal, the cloud and rain will do it’s best to take away any benefit available from the very mild conditions on offer.

dreary at best😫

Doctors Said it’s possibly a systemic reaction to an insect or spider bite  I received on Thursday  last week after demolishing old garden shed

Drops of rain now falling after a dry night.   2.1mm for yesterday.     Bone penetrating dampness.    Miserable grey cloud.  Feeling chilly though temp is 5.8C.  No wonder some folks are unwell.  We need sunshine. 🌞

Scuba steve😮  ooo er   There are more mosquitoes about nowadays in all these wetter conditions.  I've had some bad bites when working in damp warm sheltered places in the last 3yrs.  Midge bites no problem for me, but mosquito bites swell up badly after a few hours and itch for days.  Mosquitoes hum like helicopters and are determined to attack.  There's also the clegs -- well used to them July/ Aug.  Slow silent approach on the look out for bare flesh to collect blood and the bites itch madly.  You can usually thwack them before they've started sucking.  And then there's ?"gnats"? ... relative in S Lakes had these secretly near conifers in his garden.  Itching within an hour after being bitten.  Always had an uncomfortable journey home after visiting.

Nature in charge.  🙁

A similiar day to yesterday so far, benign and cloudy, not much happening so far. Yesterday livened up markedly as the day wore on with heavy squally showers. However, today is set to just bring rain later.

Just watching the news reports of the NE USA and New York being hammered with a huge snow event. I usually interpret that as we get the opposite! 🤔

Not the wet afternoon I was expecting here based on the forecast this morning. Mostly dry and cloudy throughout. A slight bit of dampness in the air now, but nothing even remotely significant enough to get the ground wet right now.
