Weather-history it’s an interesting one that’s for sure,GFS below no snow accumulation away from high ground, however the Hi res chart you posted From the ECM you would think at that range would be more accurate, the models have been toying with all week.

Watching Carol Kirkwood this morning,  she only referred to Thursday and said beyond that was unsettled.

Just wondering if they are keeping a watch for developments on Friday.

So much for a settled period incoming. I went for a short cycle yesterday afternoon and got absolutely drenched. Really heavy rain for half an hour. The forecast showed light rain. It was biblical.

Wet again this morning. Seems that will be the theme now for the foreseeable, there is rain in the forecast for every day here now.

Day 10 Would be great to see a 10th Mar 2023 repeat its similar timing wise too with sleet turning to wet snow giving a 2cm covering here last year. We were burnt by the charts the other week so can’t see it being more than sleet away from high ground but would love to be proved wrong -a final covering no matter how brief would be a nice end to Winter ❄️

Yes mate, in the last 20 years or so, some of our best snowfalls have come in March (well, here anyway).

There appears to be a major SSW warming forecast, so that is bound to mix up the atmosphere good style, luck of the draw if we end up with some bitter cold but the chance is there now.

Weather eh, I've been pulled back in for a few more weeks! 😁❄️

Chris.R given what happened a couple of weeks ago, it can even go belly up at t0.

better waiting until t+24 to be sure what we get.

Up here even today didn’t live up to the forecast.

the rain arrived earlier than expected, was lighter than expected but the late afternoon clearance never materialised so the only thing that ended up as a expected was another technically mild but cold feeling sort of day to add to a long list of them over the last few months.

Beginning to wonder if the Meto have underestimated this possibility for Friday this from this evenings ECM,snow to quite low levels according to these charts.

cheshire snow Simon King was on BBC Radio Manchester about an hour ago and did say 200-300 upwards could see some snow and this could affect the Transpennine routes on Friday.

Had Worse May be similiar to the event back on a Thursday 8th Feb I think which was a 200m plus affair..

Back to today, a deteriorating day, rain set in at lunchtime becoming heavy late afternoon with an early dark descent into dusk. Also not at all feeling mild, my max was less than 8 degrees, below the 10 forecast.
