Got away with it today. No rain after the early showers,

Yes it does look as though the ECM was better than the GFS at predicting how far east the rainfall might be.

Does that mean it's not coming now?

The forward forecast "suggests" you might see some light sprinkles around !9:30

Today started looking promising for an interesting day with sunshine and sharp showers. However since 11.00 it’s just been cloudy and dry.

It might not be game over.If it's to survive then it will send some shoots up from around  the base.Could give the area near the base a gentle scrape. If its brown underneath a bit of a worry if green then in with a chance. Is the soil from where you dug footings out lol looks dodgy

I've just come in ... I lost daylight for gardening! I planted and potted.

Erm ... next question ... What's happened to my new willow tree that got planted in October? For the last 3 weeks it's only had a few flowering buds. No more have opened. I've just given it a little trim as some stems were dying back and completely brown. What else can I do for it?

Cloudy and murky this morning. ☁️

Off down Fawley way for MD, in a bit.

Only had an hour, so I've applied some weed and feed to the grass this morning. I'll whisper it quietly, but now need a bit of rain for it to do its thing.

Day off tomorrow, so back filling the sleepers will be the order of the day.

The last few days, whilst predominantly dry (nuisance rain aside), have like usual, been cloud dominated and dull.

I have no evidence or stats to back this up, but the last 12 months or so have felt like Groundhog Day here, with cloudy condition dominating despite alternating weather patterns.

The first day this year with almost stationary heavy showers developing then dying in situ. A very convective sky here despite a lot of mid/high level cloud.

A dry day so far though IMBY with some hazy sunshine after heavy rain overnight.

With heavy heart I cancelled fishing to start planting Summer bulbs.Glad I did make a start but fishing season finishes Thursday so a tricky decision.Much smaller bulb order this year so probably 2 short planting shifts will sort.
