  1. This is fascinating watching even though I’m a complete novice in regards to how everything is interlinked and a small change downstream can have a massive effect later on. It’s frustrating to see how the models flip flop about, one minute they run with epic cold only to drop it later on. It’s obviously very difficult getting any sort of consensus between the bigger models. Reminds me of 2010 this does. I hope so much the charts that are toying with the potentially epic snowy utopia deliver. I think as a nation we could do with something to take our minds off the horrendous situation we are in with Covid. Was great today on our dog walk watching children play in the icy puddles and have fun. They could do with it lord knows. Thanks to all of you guys with your take on things. Great, if not endlessly frustrating, fun
  2. The model drama continues. Up last night, down this morning. Reminds me of...
  3. I still don’t know why we keep getting caught up in it all. To have boom charts being churned out day after day for it then to just disappear is just laughable. Sure this maybe the SSW playing havoc. Equally it’s just as likely it isn’t and we’ll get cold, dank nothingness til end of February. The UK really is the worst place to be if you like snow, for our latitude anyway. Dire
  4. I’m a weather enthusiast as opposed to having any real understanding of the charts etc but one thing I do know; model output seems as useful as a chocolate teapot. People talking even at 120/144h what the weather will do, I don’t trust forecasts even at 24/48h, more often than not even then they're wrong. It’s nice looking at the pretty colours on the charts but about as likely to verify as Jennifer Anniston turning up on my doorstep begging me to take her on....
  5. Giving it a break for a week I think. Can’t handle the heartache
  6. I don't believe anything I read on here tbh, been led up non-snowy garden paths far too many times. I believe it when I see it..
  7. Quelle surprise... a much anticipated (and long overdue snow event) suddenly shies away from even the southern most tip of our region. You just couldn't make it up. Now if it was inches of rain.....
  8. The one thing I’ve learned from my twelve or so years of being on here is not to get wrapped up in hype and hope casting. I believe it when I see snow falling in the light of my lamp post. The one certainty of being in the UK is that if cold and snow can find a way of not showing it’s face, it will certainly find it lol
  9. Isn’t it always the way? Crap winters, no storms. The promise rarely delivers
  10. I made it halfway up Exedown Hill just to the West of Wrotham. Almost biblical rain wasn’t it???
  11. Personally, as per my username, Winter is my thing. Love fine weather but the heat progged for the next few days is my idea of awful weather. Frustrating how seemingly simple it is to get hot humid weather here but how utterly knife edge it is to get cold if any real description. Anyway, enjoy the heat if you can
  12. I’m at a friends tonight who’s got a pretty neat telescope that’s good enough to show Saturn’s rings so looking forward to that. He lives in the sticks so it’s darker than where I am. First saw Neowise on Saturday evening as up until then it had been annoyingly cloudy (always is when something like this happens). Managed to get a decent view of it even on my old 8 c 40 binoculars. Faded obviously last night so hoping get a last chance tonight to see on a decent scope. Still no Halle Bopp though but that’s me being greedy lol
  13. Darker mornings is what i'm most looking forward to. My circadian rhythm is knackered with all this light
