    Another night of heavy rain followed by heavy showers today. Then more to follow at the weekend with storm Dennis .. usually I’m wanting cold and snow but now praying from some dry, settled Spring warmth. What a crappy Winter

    I was heading home to Tenterden from Tunbridge Wells. I’d taken my boys to their Nana’s and they wanted to play in the snow. We got as far as the Blue Boy roundabout and turned back. It was bedlam. Heavy, thick snow, snails pace driving back towards the ex’s as there was no way I was going through the lanes with three kids and risking getting stuck. Got down to Tonbridge where there was nothing. Mad!!

    Well a last hurrah with the boys sledging up on the North Downs near West Kingsdown. It’s been fun, no way comparable to 1987 or 1991 but great nevertheless. Been fantastic making memories with my boys....

    Well it’s been a thrilling week after many nail biting model runs and it’s been great to see those breathtaking Synoptics come all the way through to fruition. Three happy boys and a very happy dad!! Here’s to next Winter!!!

    I think you’ve explained your own criticisms to be fair. I’m not sure but I think most on here are amateur weather enthusiasts and not professionals. And for the professionals it’s an educated guess with the information at hand. Then Mother Nature decides otherwise....

    Yeah it melted fairly readily once the sun popped its face out... we've had a nice top up again though so fingers crossed it holds tomorrow as it’s clear skies forecast.
