  1. I’m surprised you got so little being that high up? Anyway, thanks for replying. Fingers crossed ??
  2. How much did you end up with then Steve? And what’s your thoughts on further snow today?
  3. To be fair sleety people get the hump because snow is unlike any other weather. It’s so visual, so magical. I’d get the bloody hump as well if we’d got nothing. A bit of empathy eh?
  4. It’ll be gutting if this does all fizzle out by the weekend given the monstrously cold upper air temps that were modelled. There was talk of another 1987 or 1991. Errr, no but still very nice ?
  5. Lovely to wake up to 4/5 inches this morning. So gutted for others that haven’t been lucky yet. There still time so fingers crossed for you all ????????
  6. Convergence, converge, ‘joined up’ snow showers into more organised and larger snowfall ?
  7. Just got back from walking the dog near Ightham and it whites out! Heavy, large snowflakes in a stiff wind!!! Waited years for that. Grabbed a pic before my blumming battery died!!!
  8. Nothing here in Tonbridge but waiting for some!!! My three boys most unimpressed!!!
  9. Getting excited now!! My eldest and I built a sledge today, kitted out with proper ski’s on the bottom! I just hope we get to use it..
  10. I was only 5 in 79 but do remember it. 1981 I remember clearly as the snow had drifted up against the hedge and our dad crept out and put Rudolph footprints, sleigh lines and reindeer poo (raisins) on Christmas Eve. Us three kids were spellbound looking at it....
  11. Morning all, minus 2 here in Tonbridge and you can feel the chill in the air outside Brrr!!! having experienced 79, 81, 87 and 91 on top of the North Downs, I’ve been waiting a looong time for this upcoming spell. I just hope it delivers!!!!
  12. Well I lived in that tiny little village on top of the downs and witnessed January 1987 first hand... then February 1991 in the same location. I’ve been in love with Easterlies ever since...
  13. Fantastic show, haven't seen a storm like it in years ️️ Privileged to have witnessed it.
  14. Hope we get the projected cold spell. My youngest,4, keeps asking me when it will snow and so far I've had to say I don't know but maybe this coming week I can tell him it might just fall!!
  15. Absolutely amazing again last night. Kicked off about 8.30pm with incredible flashes every 4 or 5 seconds for well over an hour. Took my eldest boy out storm chasing until 10pm with it still going strong. Nothing of note for years and then two in two nights!! Very happy chaser here. Hope more to come but I can't grumble on two successive events that will stay in my memory for years!! The pic is the front just approaching. Couldn't get any lightning pics because my digital slr had a flat battery, typical!
  16. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-28364856 Did anyone see this? I think was not far from me, I'm sure I recognise those houses......
