Yes lickey hills are brilliant for snow when it’s marginal, many times Iv gone out in the car in sleet to get up there to a winters wonderland

Forgive me but isn’t a week of temperatures around 4-5c and just below freezing at night with a few wintry showers along the coast just bog standard weather for the uk? And yet on here it was like a mini ice age was coming a few days ago. I get we all want extremes with the weather and that but everytime there’s a glimmer of an easterly or northerly on here it’s bigged up like no tomorrow. Listen to the more knowledgeable on here and the pros and you won’t be disappointed. every year I almost go up the garden path but not this year lol. enjoy the odd frost whist we have it I’m sure it won’t be long until the next ice age chase

Great that all the cold will be but if we don’t get snow it will be a massive waste, with low pressure to the south and high to the north surely there will be some decent showers in the flow. IMO it’s only an upgrade if it brings the white stuff in. I hear this upgrade/downgrade word used far to much

All this talk of Thursday and beyond, what’s happening before Thursday which is 4-5 days away? Cold and dry or damp,wet, white who knows? Theres quite a few beginners on here that must think there’s a gap in the weather or something lol

It’s all good and well looking into potential snow etc from Thursday but I really think we all should focus a little more in the immediate future as later next week will chop and change an awful lot. Let’s hope for some small features that could crop up before Thursday.

What on earth am I reading on here, some of the comments are quite frankly baffling lol. It’s getting colder with chances of snow. We are talking about 5,6,7 days away etc so comments if game over or it’s too far north are irrelevant at this stage

For me it’s all getting pretty exciting tbh, nothing will ever go smoothly here in the uk, small part of the world on the edge of a giant ocean. But it’s going to turn cold that’s starting to look a lot more likely. As regards to snow chances, details like that will chop and change more than your underpants! So often you see low pressures coming in from the Sw that will track further north or further south come the day. The positive is you want these lows to give the snow chances a boost so just let them add to the excitement. You can’t predict where they will end up until a few hours before and even then they surprise us most of the time. RELAX AND ENJOY THE RIDE

Good post this lad. About time you started posting again on here, yes I feel December this year could well be quite fruitful

Forgive me but ecm has been wrong on many occasions maybe not as much as gfs but they are all trying to predict what will happen so all are subject to changes. remember the uk is a very small part of a large world of predictions. it’s good to have our first chase/garden path moment of the upcoming season

Why are some worrying about storms dying or not, it’s an explosive situation now where things are going to pop off all over the place, I’d say give it another hour and it will be very lively

It’s probably worse out there today than yesterday tbh, Iv got to drive to redditch in a minute to help my mom and dad move house! What a day for it

Just been for a drive up the lickey hills to be greeted to heavy sleet but deep snow

If and when it turns back to snow believe me it really doesn’t matter if the ground is saturated or slushy it will soon settle if conditions are right. Within half hour it will all be white again

Not bad from last night’s effort, hoping the rain don’t come but probably will, let’s see you just never know
