What game is that then?

Just got home from trying to play 5 aside and this is the state of play here. Not bad really, not sure yet on tomorrows situation

Well I’m in redditch atm on pretty low ground and already starting to get tricky in my rear wheel drive bmw

High ground is key here, I have some accumulation but not much but a short trip to the licky hills a different story

This is the current state of play , I believe once it starts getting into the evening then it will start to cause a few problems and settle

I think this is just a taster, as the afternoon goes on it will become colder and hopefully something a bit heavier so it will soon start to settle, tomorrow morning rush could be chaotic to say the least. BRING IT ON I SAY

Well the snow has started here. Will this be 3 days of snow

This could well be a memorable few days for us lot in the midlands, I’d say if you have height on your side then it’s looking very promising. Can you imagine though if it’s all wet out there for days with just a few flakes in the rain. Let’s hope that not the case. im ready for a good snowy blast and then spring with some strong sun please

Thinking I might join you with a spot of lamppost watching. Think the models will still bring Thursdays a bit further south yet personally

Personally now at this time of year I don’t want just cold. If it’s going to snow then great let’s have a few more days of winter. If it’s cold and dry or just rain then let’s warm the place up a bit. models are all over the shop for mid next week, don’t think any of them have called this yet. Let’s enjoy the next few day’s potential rather than just looking for a breakdown

Most of us on here are guilty of going mad over every single model and model run. All I see is comments off abundance of snow or mild in the south rain, very dry due to high pressure but yet see lows everywhere, back edge snow bla bla bla. im not as clued up as some on here but I like to think I no a bit and even I’m confused. Imagine the beginners or lurkers on here

Why are you so hung up on every single model run? The models for next week are to give a trend not a definite outcome. It’s getting much colder and quite a bit of snow in the mix. Obviously the further north one is the cold and snow will generally be longer lasting etc. look for the trend and the trend is good. Relax mate

I think the difference here between December and March as others have also stated is that the strength of the sun will increase shower activity over land. You can get some massive afternoon showers develop that would drop the temperature like a stone potentially give a decent covering and then freeze overnight. Let’s enjoy the potential coming our way and for a change it’s not day 10+. But just remember in the uk what can go wrong to scupper cold will. I certainly won’t be worrying about next winter anytime soon

Tbh I don’t think things will count down from like 10+ days I feel that there will be sudden changes in the nearer term all of a sudden. Like slight upgrades in runs as time gets closer that’s how I feel there could be a decent wintry outbreak. It’s been a very strange winter this year if you ask me. I’d love a good dumping but not a long cold spring….I want some warmth

Can you imagine the people that are not members on here and just have a look from time to time, looked on here 5 days ago thinking wow 10 days we are going into the freezer with loads of snow chances, wake up this morning think oh let’s have a look on here expecting in a few days a big freeze only to find not only has it not moved forward but also the usual massive watered down version. Does make me wonder why we bother tbh but like others I’m hooked

I know it’s all model related but this is exactly why I don’t see why we get so excited or upset by day 10/11 charts, it’s because there’s a 0.01% chance of them verifying, I used to get carried away with them charts a few years ago but Iv been burned that many times and led up the runway let alone the garden path but not anymore. Of course I’d love a big freeze up with loads of snow especially after this shocking winter but I’m also at the point now where I’m looking forward to the feel of that warm sun on me. Boring that it may be I’d suggest sticking to day 5 at most and only look further for trends at most

Much that I love your enthusiasm you do realise it’s always day 10? The amount of day 10s we have had lately should be around day 2 or 3 by now! Let’s hope these charts do make it before the end of March but time will tell. If in another week it’s day 10 I really would just start looking for day 10 thunderstorms and heat personally

Is it just me or are the really good charts at day 10 all the time lol. As soon as they get inside day 10 the closer they get the more watered down they become. for me personally if we are not going to get snow I’d much rather a decent spring now than cold 6 degrees crap tbh. yes with the ssw things are still up in the air and could go either way but still find it pointless in getting excited at day 10 charts unless you like a rather large garden path unfortunately. give me a southerly wind sun and 18c now
