Dying out now, i do hope that wasn't it.
-
Snow being blown about everywhere, a couple of hours of this and I may see 10cm. Optimistic I know!
-
Reverse psychology has done the trick, Houston we have lift off!
-
Bah humbug, non event for here looks like my 3cm will have to do for another winter, Lol
Hopefully the Atlantic crashes through next week, at least it will give us a decent cover before turning to rain.
-
Some very light snow in the wind, whether this is the part of the main band who knows as its still showing up as being South of us.
-
Well even if I don't get anymore snow the 3cm I have makes it the third biggest fall of snow in the last 4 years.
-
Looking a non event here, it's really struggling to push a few miles from Darwen.
-
It's something here. This thread is very busy today. You'd swear it was snowing or something...
-
I've got better things to do than watch all you Southerners hogging my snow Lol.
-
Oh we'll if it doesn't reach here at least I've a covering, which after yesterday's model viewing is a bonus.
-
Not looking good for me then.Looking at the latest radar it seems to be decaying right over Preston !
-
A bit concerned it won't reach this far North.
-
A few flakes on and off, awaiting the heavier precipitation.
-
Still got light snow falling temp 0.0c
-
CC will hopefully confirm snow there soon, although the shock of him seeing snow may just be too much for him.06:45 radar - another NE'ly shift albeit slight.
Won't be long before it gets to Liverpool at this rate. Any reports from Chester/Crewe?

Yes the GFS as certainly been bullish regarding the Northern and Eastern extent of this.I'm sticking with the GFS predictions that the front will get much further N and E than the UKMET is suggesting. I'll temper this by saying it's purely based on my own opinion which in turn is based on the fact that the GFS has stubbornly stuck to its guns since last nights 00Z i.e. the 06Z 12Z 18Z and 00Z (latest) have all shown the same thing in the reliable T-24-36 Hour timeframe.
-
I think those further North could also see snow, not from the main band but from the above. Also notice, echoes have developed in the Irish Sea the gap between the main band and the Isle of Man seems to filling in.
-
Just checked it on mine and indeed it is.I've looked and looked again on the MeteoGroup radar and the boundary of the front must be through Hawarden, and just a smidgen SW of the Dee Estaury.
-
It that's the case then yes, the UKMO has it stalling south of there. The band is literally knocking on the door of West Cheshire and the Wirral now (surely this band is further north and east than progged at present)?
-
A nice 3cm covering of snow with temps at 0.1c. Not holding out much hope for anything today apart from a few light showers maybe, the front does look like stalling to the South of the region now, but you never know we may get lucky.

I thought my ten year old daughter had been let loose with her crayons, good effort still IF and better than many computer generated graphs. For 0000 Friday until 0000 Saturday. Very amateur prediction !
-
Jet barrels it's way North with a strong Azores high.Ian whats your honest thought's on that next band and how far east and north it will reach ?
-
But at least they will have there eggs and soldiers.Been to the shop and the shelves are empty. No eggs, no bread lol. People are going to look silly when we only get a couple of cm!
-
Good news, those pesky pennines are no match this evening.Excellent post - thanks
