  1. Well, it's a wee bit of a surprise eh?! I'm thinking that if this ppn band can do this to us at sea level or there abouts - then it's going to be a very interesting 48 hours! Even the main A Road outside my building now has an inch of snow on it... Calling all gritters!
  2. Temp been steadily falling all morning - now 1ºC/0ºC with heavy snow. I like cold zonality
  3. Oh yes sammie! Heavy snow here at my work - 130m asl. Settling on cars and grass etc. - going to be a classic me thinks!
  4. Yep: Let's just hope that this year's forecast warming is a whammy in one go - is it looking much more intense?
  5. But don't forget this warming seems to be around a good month earlier than last year
  6. Well I suppose a 16 day moving projection is sufficient. Then mid month each month, there's a full month projection. CFS would be rubbish - not enough detail and it's a bit too flaky.
  7. That's something Paul or Karl would be able to help with - I'll PM Karl to get his view on the techie side
  8. Was just drifting my mouse across the south coast reporting stations on http://www.xcweather.co.uk Perfect alignment with 10ºC in the west at St Mary's in the Scilly Isles, to the easternmost Sandettie Light vessel in the channel at 3ºC - west to east gradual drops of 1ºC every 50 miles or so, all with a brisk southerly wind. Wonderful illustration of sea warmth vs continental cold.
  9. Or aliens! Perhaps it's a bit off the wind turbine?
  10. There's a chart archive in the free Datacentre - bottom right hand side linking to WZ Sean http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif Don't know about satellites photos - anyone?
  11. Not very often the word 'blizzard' appears in anything formal from the Meto
  12. BBC reporting coldest day in London for over a decade. Mild, windy and raining here
  13. Where you of to K? Hope it's good fun - take some pictures
  14. Seems a very do-able idea CM - leave it with us. Will PM
  15. Or it could be symptomatic of the frustration and paranoia of a handful of ultra 'cold lovers' who in their desperation to cling on to the fig leaf of a few below average months want it shouting from the roof tops - and in the emotional turmoil they find themselves in start jumping up and down and crying like 4 yr olds because one set of figures is a couple of days late... Or as in that episode of Family Guy when Peter announces he's religous - he suddenly states he 'doesn't believe in gravity'. As Davina would say 'You decide'.
  16. Are they? Have you done a survey - used a polling organisation, or is this all in your head?
  17. You'd have thought aliens and their intergallactic craft would have sufficient technology to spot and avoid such big pieces of equipment?! Quite a mystery
  18. What a hilarious little thread with some bizarre streams of consciousness saying a lot more about people's inability to be rational rather than the Met Office publishing their figures on time. I haven't laughed so much in pity about a thread on here for at least 24 hours!
  19. Phew - what a scorcher - currently 5ºC/4ºC. Could be on for the highest minimum since the few days before xmas at this rate!
  20. TWS's answer in the other thread about temperature and drizzle gives you a good idea: http://www.netweather.tv/forum/index.php?s...t&p=1417869
  21. Not to mention the variance in the wet bulb temp, the dew point etc.
  22. I've always held back this photo I took at your home for a special day, and this has obviously been that special day.
