  1. A very merry Christmas to all my winter (and mild lol) lovers on this great forum ❄❄♥♥. I hope you all have a fantastic day with your loved ones. Love and peace to you all ❤ ❤ xxx
  2. Pub run doing its usual fast track to cold. Reason for optimism at the moment but this run is too soon with the goodies.
  3. Somebody wake me up when (or if lol) winter proper actually starts ❄❄
  4. As Anyweather said, it's the 06z lol. I think many on here, including myself, are a bit weary. I think most will agree that the UK is incredibly overdue a substantial January cold spell. It's been an age since the last one. So, scraps just don't cut the mustard for most, bits of wet snow and sleet, if that. No thank you.
  5. Yep, I won't be raising even one eye brow until the ext ecm ens show something much more impressive than this morning's mediocre set.
  6. All very wishy washy though. No ooompff! It won't deliver what most of us want.
  7. Nice to know Scandi can still get their winter fix. Oh I remember this well. The arctic high actually did us a favour for once lol.
  8. So much cold air bottled up over Scandinavia. So near but yet so far. For a change no Sceuro high keeping temps higher over there. It would be a crying shame if we don't get to tap into that cold air come January.
  9. Always seems to be that persistent vortex lobe over north eastern Canada. It really works against us, spewing cold into the north Atlantic, spurring on cyclogenesis.
  10. Indeed Tilly. It pains me to to say it but we have to admit when things are looking not as good as we hoped for.
  11. Models looking lacklustre again today. This is a mobile set up, atlantic too active.
  12. Nothing to excite me in the modelling this morning. The mean temps on the ecm ens for debilt actually rise from days 12 to 14 so I'm certainly not going to get sucked into a cold chase at 2 weeks out.
  13. Ok, you're lucky I'm a gentleman . Look to the north west of Iceland and you should see pressure rising, see the 1025 (this is what leads to the Iceland high that you mention at 240hrs). So, you can already see the positive developments before day 10. I hope this helps to explain x
  14. So you understood why the 240hr northern hemisphere chart looked promising but not the 216hr chart? I think you're under estimating yourself
