    You touched on the fact that solar activity hasn't been mentioned much this season. I 'used' to bring the subject up quite often as I believe it has a significant effect on winter weather synoptics. I gave up mentioning it on here though as I got sick to the back teeth of the nay sayers and the snidy remarks. My philosophy now is that people will hopefully research this phenomenon in their own time if they are willing and open to the scientific reasonings behind it.

    No, it wasn't just the 240hr chart. I actually thought the 216hr chart was even better. Incredible potential on that one. Anyway, gone in a puff of smoke this morning. That happens every year now.

    Yep, I have to agree with others in here this morning. Worst set of runs this season. What was the ecm 12z run all about last night? Seems we have been teased more than ever this year with the run up to Christmas.

    It's as if something has switched off the atlantic in about a weeks time since that ecm 12z. Either something is afoot at relatively short notice or it's another false dawn.

    I've seen them posted before but I don't know where to access them. Latest mogreps has reverted back to huge uncertainty from day 5 onwards.

    This is why I don't give much credence to the gfs 06z or 18z runs. I trust this run no more than the mildfest pub run of last night. We often see the unbelievable best case scenario on the 06z run only to have our hopes dashed 6 hours later.
