Wow, so I managed to miss any snow as the front moved North yesterday and I wake this morning and look out my window and again we missed the snow that cleared away South overnight.. Snow shields working 100%.. Pleased for all you guys who got some yesterday. Nice frost outside..

Wow.... It's snowing outside............. Just kidding, did you rush out of bed to take a look? Sorry but I'm praying for snow today, we have missed out to many times already this winter...

Hope the mild spell is short lived... This is what the TV forecast showed just 20 minutes ago for next week.. Up to 13 degrees..

Good Morning, so the weather forecast I watched just now says turning milder as we head into next week? Do the charts show a brief warm up or are they not showing this? I'm a novis at this but to me the charts look like they are turning colder? Thanks... ??

I think we all know it's always the same. So much promise of these cold charts for xmas, then moves to start of new year, then mid Jan, Feb sometime only for it all to fall in place in late March when the days are getting longer ...

Is this the Wobble we always hear about before a cold spell is due to start or is it the start of the charts watering down the cold spell? Usually it's always the back track sadly but let's see what the models show us once they've had there breakfast ?

Good Morning, same here near Maidstone.. Nothing. We have been so unlucky over the past 2 week. Not a single flake here. We've had snow forecast to come in from the West only for it to dive down into France then we were promised it from the East only to get Thames streamers as Rain for a few days and finally we saw snow forecast to come down from the North yesterday only for it to dive down across the south west.. How unlucky is that lol.. Latest longrange BBC forecast last night shows lots of battle ground snow next week in a line I hate to say this but North of the M4. Hopefully we will be rewarded soon...

Genuine question, I understand a little about SSW and the affects it could have to increase our cold chances but I think it was last January or the year before the BBC and on here were saying how it looked like The end of jan and through Feb it looked like being record cold and snowy yet here in kent we ended up with a record warm February and I seem to remember the temperture hitting a crazy 20+ on a few days.. What could have made it all go so wrong and could it happen this time around.. Thanks.. ?

Good morning to you all. It's good to be back on here looking for the hunt for cold and snowy weather... we don't seem to be in a to bad position at the moment.. I've known worse lol... I though I'd have a look back through the model discussion thread to see how things were looking this time last year to the very day were on now. It's interesting to see how it was all looking for cold but of course we all know how it turned out. Still a new winter season (nearly) and hopefully things will turn out brutally cold and snowy as we head deeper into winter. I would prefer to go to sleep in October with a big stockpile of treats and wake up sometime near the end of April when the warmer weather and the lighter days are coming back again.... unless we get record snow then someone please wake me up..
